About this listen

She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy....

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice, even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...And it's going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Awful narrator

Great book. Great story. Terrible narrator. A college girl that sounds like she has either smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day or is not even a girl but a man that is doing a horrible job of trying to be a woman, just kept throwing me. Add in the fact that the guys sounded like pre-pubescent boys, all with the exact same voice and I just couldn't get into the book. Way too distracted to really enjoy this book. Want to listen to book 2, but won't even buy it because I can't listen to the narrator.

The female narrator sucks. The male narrator rocks

The story is good, but the female narrator sounds like she's a heavy smoker that is trying hard to pull off seductive phone sex operator. It kind of ruined it for me. Dont get me wrong. I'm gonna get through the series. I just wont be happy about the whole situation. The guy that narrates is wonderful. He is definitely worth listening to smokey McGee

Garrett & Hannah

I loved this book (and the whole Off-Campus/Briar U series) but the Audible version is even better. Christian Fox does such an amazing job of expressing Garrett's emotions. This was my favorite listen of the year. 100% recommend.

I just finished this audiobook for the fourth time!
I'm re-reading the series because "The Legacy" comes out next week.

College Romance
Sports (hockey)
Trauma/Sexual Assault

Garrett and Hannah are both in their Junior year at Briar U. He is the captain of the hockey team. She is a performing arts major (singer). She begrudgingly becomes his tutor for an ethics class they are both taking and as they get to know each other they become friends.

We get to meet Garrett's teammates/roommates Logan, Dean and Tucker (books 2-4) and Hannah's roommate Allie (book 3).

only 4 stars because...

The woman narrator sounds like a smoker which really turned me off at first. After I got used to it, it was okay.

Singer & Hockey player....

Hannah & Garrett's story begins with tutoring and ends with the HEA. How they got there was realistic and could really happen. They both had been through it in life and really needed the other. This is how they begin to trust each other!
The female narrator wasn't not my favorite but loved Christian and usually do. Look it takes a lot of work to narrate a book so if they are not my favourite I still tend listen to the book. Luckily there is only more with this female narrator.

5 Fantastic Stars

I have fallen for Garrett and Hannah and their love story. I was lucky enough to receive this book for free in exchange for an honest review. So here it is. I loved this book so much that I just bought book 2 The Mistake. I just can't get enough of these guys.

Amazing book…but narration almost kills it

This story was absolutely amazing and I really enjoyed it. The narration of Garret by Christian Fox was perfect and I could definitely imagine him as his character. But Hannahs narration was Awful!! Her voice was not fitting to the Hannah character, I think they were going for sexy and sultry but they got old lady smoker. Overall the writer did an amazing job with there story and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the stories in this series.

handles disturbing abuse casually - narrator odd

The first thing noticeable about the audio book is the strange voice of the female narrator...

if you can get past that then the story is kinda cute as a star athlete is in pursuit of a tutor and how he is relentless. some other reviews found this to be unsettling, I thought it was super funny!

now past that, well I don't get it. Popularity in college? uhmm I guess so but at an Ivy league school felt strangely more like hs. sure everyone talks and want to "hookup" with the best looking people but status? I think that is unlikely... who cares in a huge school.

anyway after that is the real part that turned me off the secret traumas the characters have. irl these this is some serious triggered events and the author treats them very callous and casually. She plays it off as though the victims are now healthy but still participating in Supreme paranoid actions will seeking risky behavior... what a mess she makes. Obvious, these are not topic she has actually dealt with in real life or done her homework.

so between the narrator and the carelessness of the writing I give it 3 stars. listen at your own risk
