"The People of the Black Circle" is one of the original books featuring Conan the Cimmerian (or Conan the Barbarian), written by American author Robert E. Howard. It is set in the pseudo-historical Hyborian Age and concerns Conan kidnapping a regal princess of Vendhya (pre-historical India) and foiling a nefarious plot of world domination by the Black Seers of Yimsha. Due to its epic scope and atypical Hindustan flavor, the story is considered an undisputed classic of Conan lore and is often cited by Howard scholars.

"A Witch Shall Be Born" is one of the original novels by Robert E. Howard about Conan the Cimmerian (a.k.a. Conan the Barbarian). The story concerns a witch replacing her twin sister as queen of a city state, which brings her into conflict with Conan who had been the captain of the queen's guard. Themes of paranoia, and the duality of the twin sisters are paramount in this story but it also includes elements of the conflict between barbarism and civilization that is common to the entire Conan series.

The Kingdom of Khauran is small, but has an abundance of rich soil, hard-working inhabitants, and much gold. Most importantly, it has a sweet, young queen who is as wise and kind as she is beautiful. When her evil twin sister, a witch, captures and secretly replaces her, devil worship, human sacrifice, and other strange and evil things are introduced to the Kingdom. Under the witch’s rule, Conan the Barbarian, who was the captain of the queen's guard, is captured and sentenced to crucifixion in the desert.

Conan the Cimmerian! His mighty muscles and thews are tested here to their limit. The kingdom of Khauran is admittedly a small one, nestled between the vast desert and the plains, but it is blessed with an abundance of rich soil, hardworking devoted inhabitants and much gold but most of all by a sweet young queen who is as wise and beneficent as she is beautiful.

Conan the Barbarian is after fabulous treasure in this exciting story. But he finds himself in more difficulties than he had counted on. Crafty and powerful human opponents seek to skin him alive, bestial mutations seek to rip his arms off, denizens of the deep want to devour him whole and scantily clad dusky beauties try to waylay him at every step. And all of this to find the Jewels of Gwahlur, the most fabulous treasure every hidden in a secret temple.

"Jewels of Gwahlur" is one of the original tales starring the sword and sorcery hero Conan the Cimmerian (a.k.a. Conan the Barbarian), written by author Robert E. Howard. Set in the pseudo-historical Hyborian Age, it concerns several parties, including Conan, fighting over and hunting for the eponymous treasure in Hyborian Africa... As always, lots of action, appetizing but dangerous women and no shortage of suspense!

"Beyond the Black River" is one of the original stories about Conan the Cimmerian (a.k.a. Conan the Barbarian), written by American author Robert E. Howard and published in 1935. It is set in the pseudo-historical Hyborian Age and concerns Conan fighting the savage Hyborian Picts in the unsettled lands beyond the infamous Black River... The story is considered one of Howard's very best (and most brutal) and features rather significantly a feral dog named Slasher that wins the deep respect of Conan!

Conan is working for pay as a soldier at the frontier fort of Tuscelan. While out scouting he saves the life of Balthus, and the two become embroiled in a fight for their lives and a war against the invading picts. Can Conan and Balthus defeat the evil sorcerer that has summoned ancient monsters and bound the pictish clans as never before?

Conan the Barbarian is employed by one of the civilized countries to help in it's push to claim lands from the primitive Picts. The Picts are not excited about the idea, however. Old gods and mythical creatures are called up by the Pict witches to contest the invading army and Conan finds himself battling for his life amid the bloodthirsty hordes that include saber-toothed tigers, 40-foot-long venomous snakes and a demon from another dimension who is intent on crushing him.

"Shadows in Zamboula" is one of the original Conan the Cimmerian (a.k.a. Conan the Barbarian) books, first published in 1935. Its original title was "The Man-Eaters of Zamboula". The story takes place over the course of a night in the desert city of Zamboula, with political intrigue amidst streets filled with roaming cannibals. It features the character Baalpteor, one of the few humans in the Conan stories to be a physical challenge for the main Cimmerian character himself.

Conan the Barbarian spends a night in a cheap tavern in Zamboula, and is swept up in a dark world of roaming cannibals, a naked woman and her deranged lover, the strangler Baal-pteor and the evil high priest he serves.

"Red Nails" is one of the books featuring Conan the Cimmerian (a.k.a Conan the Barbarian) written by American author Robert E. Howard. It is set in the pseudo-historical Hyborian Age and concerns Conan encountering a lost city in which the degenerate inhabitants are proactively resigned to their own destruction. The tale also features a tough and beautiful female pirate named Valeria the Red, catching Conan's eye as well as his respect.

Conan and Valeria discover a lost city that is walled in and roofed over, allowing none to enter or leave. Within its walls are riches beyond compare and a seething war between the tribes of degenerates who live there. FNH audio presents an unabridged reading of Red Nails. Red Nails was the last Conan story penned by Robert E. Howard and is often represented by Howard scholars as one of the best.
