  • Bryce Harper is OK, José Alvarado throws 100.7 mph
    Feb 28 2025

Breathe, everybody. Bryce Harper got hit on the right arm Wednesday by a 92 mph fastball, but he’s OK. He’s supposed to play Friday against the Red Sox in Clearwater.

We talk about that scare, but then dig into some interesting happenings this week in Florida. How about Kyle Schwarber playing first base? How about José Alvarado throwing 100.7 mph in his first Grapefruit League outing? How about a great spring debut from Phillies ace Zack Wheeler? And how about these Phillies lineups?

Should we ready anything into them as games get going?

  • Aaron Nola joins the show: talks pitching, shoes, poker
    Feb 26 2025

Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola has been one of baseball’s best, more durable pitchers for nearly a decade.

From 2017-24, he ranks first in baseball in innings pitched (1,432 2/3); second in strikeouts (1,590); and third in baseball in wins (92) and WAR (34.0). He’s helped the Phillies make the postseason each of the past three seasons.

Nola joined the show from Clearwater, Fla., to talk about the things that have made him successful – his curveball and preparation, for starters – plus, how he fulfilled a lifelong dream of having his own baseball spikes and his charity poker tournament on May 15 at Citizens Bank Park that will benefit veterans.

Go here to learn more about Nola’s charity poker tournament.

  • The Band’s Back Together in Clearwater
    Feb 24 2025

It’s been months since Ruben, Jim and Todd sat together in the same place to record an episode of The Phillies Show.

But the stars aligned Sunday in Clearwater, and the three chatted next to the half-field about Sunday’s Grapefruit League home opener against the Orioles at BayCare Ballpark. It included a monstrous blast from Phillies prospect Gabriel Rincones Jr., whose two-run homer scored Justin Crawford, a top Phillies prospect who had two consecutive good days at the plate.

They dug into the Phillies’ suddenly wide open bench battle, following Weston Wilson’s injured oblique, and more!
