  • Newcastle United 2 (4) - 0 (0) Arsenal
    Feb 6 2025

Newcastle United moved a giant step closer to ending a 56-year wait to win a major trophy as they secured a place in the Carabao Cup final with victory over Arsenal after an emotional night on Tyneside. Eddie Howe's side, who held a 2-0 advantage from the semi-final first leg, completed the second part of the assignment, and will now face Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley as they stand one victory away from ending a sequence without major success stretching back to the 1969 triumph in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. Newcastle made a flying start, with Alexander Isak having a goal ruled out for offside before Jacob Murphy turned home a rebound in the 19th minute after the Sweden striker's shot hit the post. The goal came seconds after Martin Odegaard missed what turned out to be Arsenal's best chance of turning this semi-final around, glancing the post with only keeper Martin Dubravka to beat.

In a tumultuous atmosphere, with the Toon Army urging their side on at deafening volume, Newcastle delivered the decisive blow after 52 minutes following a nightmare moment for Arsenal keeper David Raya. Raya inexplicably tried to find Declan Rice, who was shadowed by Fabian Schar. He stole possession away from Rice, leaving Anthony Gordon with a simple finish to send Newcastle back to Wembley. And the Geordie hordes will be hoping to make up for losing against Manchester United in the EFL Cup final two years ago, as well as claiming a first domestic honour since the 1955 FA Cup.

  • Newcastle United 1-2 Fulham
    Feb 1 2025

Newcastle missed the opportunity to go fourth in the Premier League after a superb second-half comeback from Fulham. A point for the Magpies would have sent them above Manchester City, who visit Arsenal on Sunday, 2 February. But substitute Rodrigo Muniz completed a fine Fulham turnaround in the 82nd minute after he got the deftest of touches on Andreas Pereira's dangerous free-kick into the box.

  • Southampton 1-3 Newcastle United
    Jan 25 2025

Newcastle United recorded four Premier League away wins in a row for the first time since 1996 following a 3-1 victory against Southampton on Saturday afternoon. Newcastle trailed in the opening stages at St Mary's Stadium following Jan Bednarek's header before Alexander Isak's quick-fire brace turned the contest in United's favour, with the Swedish forward equalising from the penalty spot before netting his 17th Premier League goal of the season on the half-hour mark. Sandro Tonali doubled United's advantage shortly after the restart, the Italian's first Premier League goal since netting on his debut against Aston Villa in August 2023, as Eddie Howe's side moved into the top four.

  • Newcastle United 1-4 Bournemouth
    Jan 18 2025

Newcastle United missed the chance to rack up a club record ten successive wins as Justin Kluivert's hat-trick helped Bournemouth record a 4-1 victory over Eddie Howe's side on Saturday afternoon. Kluivert's early goal rewarded Andoni Iraola's men for a lively start on Tyneside, but Bruno Guimarães' header swiftly brought the hosts level. Bournemouth - who had been on a similarly impressive run of form going into the contest - proved tricky opposition, and took the lead again just before half time when Kluivert rolled home his side's second. Two stoppage time goals then added further gloss to the scoreline, with Kluivert's 20-yarder sealing his treble before Milos Kerkez slammed home a fourth to wrap it up.

  • Newcastle United 3-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
    Jan 16 2025

Alexander Isak netted for a club record eighth Premier League game in a row as Newcastle United made it nine consecutive victories in all competitions. The Magpies climbed into the top four with their latest three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers side while also completing a second league double of the campaign. Under a full moon, it was an entertaining night at St. James' Park and and another noteworthy one for Isak, the newly-crowned Premier League Player of the Month for December who now has 17 goals this term and 11 in his last nine matches after scoring twice. And Anthony Gordon, who added the third in the 74th minute, now has four in his last four - with Newcastle a team in form both individually and collectively.

  • Newcastle United 3-1 Bromley
    Jan 12 2025

Lewis Miley scored on his first start in almost a year, Anthony Gordon netted for the third straight game and William Osula opened his Newcastle United account as the Magpies progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup. But Eddie Howe's men needed to come from behind to record their eighth successive victory in all competitions against a well-organised Bromley side, who had never reached this stage of the competition before in their history.

  • Arsenal 0-2 Newcastle United
    Jan 8 2025

Goals either side of half time from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon gave Newcastle United a 2-0 win over Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday night. Isak's smart finish - his 50th goal for the club - put Eddie Howe's side ahead after 37 minutes at the Emirates Stadium, racking up his half century in just his 89th appearance in a black and white shirt. It was his 14th goal in his last 15 outings for the Magpies, a remarkable run of form, and Gordon's tap-in after the break gave United a two-goal lead to carry back to St. James' Park for February's all-important second leg.

  • Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Newcastle United
    Jan 5 2025

Alexander Isak continued his magnificent scoring run as Newcastle came from behind to inflict another home defeat on Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham and stretch their winning run in all competitions to six matches. The visitors came into Saturday's Premier League game in scintillating form but fell behind after just three minutes when Pedro Porro's in-swinging delivery was headed in by Dominic Solanke. However, Anthony Gordon restored parity two minutes later, firing low past Spurs' debutant goalkeeper Brandon Austin into the far corner in front of watching England manager Thomas Tuchel. Spurs were adamant Joelinton should have been penalised for handball in the build-up to Gordon's goal, but the officials deemed that the contact with Lucas Bergvall's pass was accidental and that the Brazilian's arm was in a natural position. Isak dragged a Jacob Murphy cross off target shortly after the half-hour mark but made no mistake from a similar position moments later, slotting home after Radu Dragusin had deflected another Murphy delivery into his path. The Swede becomes the third Newcastle player to score in seven consecutive Premier League matches, after Alan Shearer in 1996 and Joe Willock in 2021.
