  • Leafs Confidence, NHL Musings + Raptors Reality
    Nov 26 2024

The FAN Morning Show dives into its final hour of Tuesday with Ben Ennis & Brent Gunning continuing to talk NHL and Maple Leafs. The hosting duo debate if their confidence in Toronto has ever been higher in the Auston Matthews TML era. They welcome on Sportsnet’s own Ryan Dixon to further the conversation. (5:34) The composer of SN’s weekly NHL Power Rankings weighs in on where the Leafs fit and if they seem better than in past years with a stronger all around line-up as well as goaltending. The trio then look around the League at some of the surprising circumstances with struggling teams and their decisions, like the Bruins firing of Jim Montgomery, and the Rangers looking to make a big trade to shake up their roster. Next, B&B turn their attention back to the Raptors and are joined by Sportsnet’s own Michael Grange en route from Detroit where he took in the game last night. (26:35) The trio debate if the seemingly “tank” year has had an effect on the fanbase, if Toronto’s inability to get fully healthy should be a concern, how good they are when they are at full strength as well as what Jakob Poeltl’s role and future is with this squad.

    Nov 26 2024

On hour two of The FAN Morning Show, Ben Ennis & Brent Gunning specifically focus on the impending return of Toronto’s captain Auston Matthews and the pressure that might be on him when he returns to the ice with the team. The boys debate if Mitch Marner will continue to carry his own line in getting set for the playoffs and find out what his value to this team is in a contract year. The morning duo turn their attention back to the NFL and look to tie a bow on Week 12. B&B enlisted the help of Trey Wingo (24:21), host of the Alternate Routes Podcast. The trio discussed Lamar & the Ravens' impressive play last night and why they could be dangerous come to the playoffs and if Jim Harbaugh has the Chargers ready to contend in the AFC.

  • Raptors Winless on the Road + Offers in on Soto
    Nov 26 2024

Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning kick off The FAN Morning Show talking about the Raptors after Toronto dropped another close one last night in Detroit. The hosting duo talked about how the team is 0-10 on the road so far this season. They talk about how it's been good for the “tank” of it all but how the team hasn’t been at full strength all year and when they are, if these close games could go in their favour. B&B took some time to discuss Monday Night Football and saw John win another Harbaugh Bowl over his brother. They also talk about what they think of both the Ravens and Chargers as the playoff picture takes shape. The morning pair take some time to update the latest in the Juan Soto sweepstakes (32:10).
