We also talked about how doing seeminly small but important things in your business can have a major impact on your students. Things as simple as starting class on time, and showing some level of kindness to white belts because they're people too :)

  • Ep. 47 - JP Levesque - You don't have to sell out to sell.
    Jan 27 2025

I know you didn't open a Jiu Jitsu school to sell memberships. The people, the training, the learning, and the growth! There are so many great reasons to train Jiu Jitsu.

But owning a school means you've got to keep the lights on some how to enjoy the fun training part. I know as an owner you understand the need to to pay your bills. But you can do a lot better than that, your academy can become a sucessful revenue generating business that provides for you, your staff, and your family.

That being said you must first believe in two things, that sales is necessary for the growth of your business, and that it is not scummy or slimy, it is service. Sales done well is helping people make a decision with a clear offer. Not dancing like a monkey, begging, pressuring or pushing.

You can build out a sales process that feels good, has your values, keeps your integrity and still delivers results.
