Why do patients say they’re too busy? Or that they can’t afford care? On the surface, these sound like perfectly reasonable excuses. But are they the real reasons—or just polite ways to avoid saying, “I don’t believe you can help me”?

In this episode, we’re flipping the script and challenging ourselves to take radical responsibility for how patients perceive us and our ability to help them. Instead of accepting their excuses at face value, we’re asking the hard questions:

• Are we truly communicating the value of what we do?
• Have we built the trust and connection they need to commit to their care?
• What signals might we be sending—intentionally or not—that make patients hesitate?

We’ll explore how to shift our lens from frustration to reflection, recognizing that patient objections are often symptoms of a deeper issue. Let’s take the reins and make sure our actions reflect our ability to help—no excuses.
