He stepped into the role of sports director in 2003, shaping how the community engages with sports. Starting out as the weekend sports anchor, he made a name for himself after a notable stint in Binghamton, New York. He’s the driving force behind Channel 9’s in-depth coverage of Syracuse University Athletics and has also led the award-winning high school sports program, "Friday Night Fever." She began her journey with a BA in Applied Communication from Kent State University in 2011, where she was an active member of the Kent State Communication Society and the American Marketing Association. Prior to that, she completed her studies in Journalism and Media Studies at San Diego State University. After graduation, she gained hands-on experience as a Writer/Reporter at NBC 7 San Diego. She then took on roles with the Akron Aeros and Akron RubberDucks, handling everything from suite and picnic coordination to community relations. In 2015, she joined Jack Morton Worldwide, where she managed $1.5 million in experiential marketing programs and helped establish the Chevrolet Brand Ambassador program. This was followed by a strategic role at the Albany Business Review, where she led advertising efforts and managed multi-platform marketing solutions. From 2019 to 2023, she served as the Director of Marketing at The Ohio State University Alumni Association, deepening alumni relationships and creating engaging content.     Washington National Assistant Manager for Event Operations- Drew Hurley

    Drew Hurley's career trajectory has taken him through a diverse range of roles in sports operations and venue management. Our guest began his journey in sports with the Syracuse University Athletics program. Starting as a Men's Basketball Intern in September 2017, he supported the coaching staff and helped plan and execute various events. He then transitioned to the role of Facilities and Event Operations Assistant in May 2019, where he gained extensive experience in game administration for a range of sports, facility maintenance, and event planning. In August 2020, he took on the role of Game Operations and Events Intern. Here, he played a crucial role in event setup and breakdown, and oversaw credentialing systems during the COVID-19 pandemic.Following this, he moved to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as a Conversion Technician in July 2021. His responsibilities included converting the stadium layout for various events, coordinating with multiple departments, and troubleshooting operational issues to ensure a safe and successful event environment.In October 2021, he joined the Washington Nationals as a Coordinator in Security before being promoted to Coordinator of Security and Venue Systems in September 2023. In this role, he oversees security operations and venue systems, ensuring a secure and efficient environment for all events.

Professionally, he spent a decade with IMG College, managing a substantial client base valued at over $1.1 million annually. Before joining the Falk School Sport Management faculty full-time in 2018, he was an adjunct professor for four years.     This weeks guest: Debbie Williamson's career spans a rich tapestry of achievements in sports and academics. A standout student-athlete at Louisiana Tech in the early 1980s, she excelled in both basketball and softball, contributing significantly to the Lady Techsters' legacy with four Women’s Basketball Final Four appearances and two national championships, including the inaugural NCAA women’s basketball title in 1982. Transitioning to coaching, Williamson held roles as head women’s volleyball coach at Louisiana Tech, assistant women’s basketball coach at Southeastern Louisiana, and later as assistant basketball coach and head softball coach at Georgia Southern. She also dedicated four seasons to coaching high school JV girls and boys basketball. Beyond coaching, Williamson is a prolific author with numerous publications and research abstracts in sports management, and she contributes to Referee Magazine. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Louisiana Tech, complemented by a Doctorate of Education from the University of Houston in 2000. Her officiating career is equally impressive, having served on women’s basketball officiating staffs for various conferences and working three NCAA Division II regional tournaments. She held pivotal roles as the NCAA Women’s Basketball Secretary-Rules Editor (2006-2014) and the NCAA Women’s Basketball National Coordinator of Officiating (2011-2014). Currently, Williamson serves as the Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officiating for multiple prestigious conferences including the Atlantic Coast Conference, American Athletic Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference, Big East Conference, Big South Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and Ivy League Conference.
