About this listen

Men.

Relationships.

Love.

Marriage.

Camilla Donahue has sworn off all of the above.

If you were married to someone like Callum Anderson for seven years, you would understand why.

Six months after her divorce, she has returned to her home state of Washington from California with their five-year-old daughter, Becca, eager to find herself again.

Instead, she finds Jackson Williams, her parents' landscaper and the local heartthrob. She pretends she isn't attracted to him. But a dinner, a hike, and a kiss distract her from every rule she's created to protect her heart.

She tells herself it's nothing. Casual. Just fun. That's what they agreed to. But soon, they find themselves on the cusp of something more. When his past creeps to the surface and her own insecurities and damage get in the way, Camilla has to decide who she will fight for: her relationship or herself?

Yours to Love is a companion novel to Not Mine to Love.

Love is patient love is kind, or is it?

A messy, realistic love story that will pull at the heartstrings of single mothers and children of parents with an addiction. The author isn’t afraid fo face the hard truths of love, the many forms it comes in and the perfect time it fulfills us.

A wonderful read for those who enjoy the push and pull of love.

This will make a great edition for those who enjoy contemporary romance stories.

This is my third read by the author and I plan on reading more by her. Job well done on another page-turner.

Love the story and the narrator

I love this story so much. And Cat Hipp's voice is like a warm hug.

Second chances

Yours to Love is a story about forgiveness and healing.

She spent seven years married to a controlling man. He cheated. They divorced. She ran back home to live with her parents in Washington. He stated in California. They share custody of there five years old daughter. Adjusting to life as a divorcee at thirty has been difficult.

She’s the broken ex-wife. The woman who was manipulated and verbally abused by a man who destroyed her confidence. It’s been six months since the divorce, but the hurt is still fresh. She’s not ready to date men and quite honestly she’s on a men strike.

Her parents hired a landscaper to redo the backyard. Guess who it is? Jackson. You might remember Jackson from The Cracks Between Us, the first book by Caitlin Moss. Jackson was the guy who crossed a line with a married woman. Then Caitlin wrote Not Mine to Love a story about Jackson sharing his side of the story. Now it’s time for Jackson to meet a woman who’s been cheated on and knows how it feels. This Jackson is friendly, nice, and kind. He’s fit and muscular. Becca loves chatting him up. But Camilla is fiercely protective of her daughter and has had to reprimand her mother on numerous occasions to keep her daughter away from him.

Caitlin Moss writes an empowering story of how Camilla overcame her insecurities. Caitlin Moss provided hope and redemption in Jackson’s character. Bringing a cheater and victim of a cheater together is tricky. Yet Caitlin was quite convincing in her methods to prove Jackson was worthy of finding love while at the same time rebuilding Camilla’s confidence in herself as well as in a man. Trust is a huge factor in building relationships. Caitlin tackled it with the expertise of a well crafted writer.
Caitlin will warm readers heart with the impressionable five year old Becca. Caitlin will charm readers with the kind and attractive landscaper. You wouldn’t even think this is the same guy who had an affair with a married woman. Readers learn a side of Jackson we hadn’t explored in the previous two books. Strip the bad choices from the polite man and you’ll find a man ready to find love.

Narrator:
Cat Hipps is the solo female narrator of Yours to Love. My one wish would be to hear a man’s voice perform Jackson’s scenes instead of a woman’s. That’s the downfall of using one narrator especially when the voice is that of a woman’s trying to voice a masculine tone. Well Cat didn’t nail the tone of Jackson, but she did provide a sweet voice for Camilla. The way Cat enunciates the words of Jackson’s character comes across as careful. You can tell Cat was trying hard to stay in Jackson’s character. Yet, when she voiced Camilla’s character the words were smooth. The flow was faster.

I listened using the audible app listening at 2.3x speed. This is an unabridged audiobook allowing readers the opportunity like myself to follow along. I never regret a revisit to any book especially an audiobook. There’s nothing quite like reading a book then listening to performers bring the characters to life with great voice acting skills.

Twenty-four chapters and an epilogue make up Yours to Love. The story’s told from Camilla’s point of view. Yours to Love begins in July in Washington and ending the following year in August.
The fun for me was seeing Jackson being an entirely different man, one on the other side of loss and pain after making a few bad choices. To have him be seen in the eyes of an insecure woman was exciting. Both are healing. Yet, something beautiful happens when they are together. The way Caitlin navigates around Jackson’s red flags has my heart rate skyrocketing for the fallout of his truths. Digging deeper into the dirt readers know the red flags, yet you can’t help wanting forgiveness. It’s a slow burn with Caitlin revealing a new side to Jackson.

The sex scenes were PG rated for those not wanting the explicit details. It was tender and more sensual working around the sex scenes without being graphic.
