This series just lost me.

I listened to the first 6 books in this series, and thought they were hilarious. Then they changed the narrator. Wow. This series has become painful to listen to. What's up with the weird voices? As mentioned in a previous review, Thistle does sound like a cross between Yogi Bear and Moe from the Three Stooges. I'll see if I can force myself to get though the books. I'm hoping the story will make up for this brutal narration.

Sad,

Change in Narrator ruined the series for me. It's shocking how used you get the characters sounding s certain way. It's literally like night and day. Could not even finish book 8. Returned my purchase due to narrator.

Narrator change 🙁

I’ve really enjoyed listening to this series however like many others I don’t like the narrator change. She makes Thistle sound like a dopey yogi bear. She doesn’t even sound like a girl anymore let alone sarcastic. And clove sound like a small whiny girl. I also feel like the book has changed as well. In the past books Clove was thought to have got into Aunt Tilly’s stash but then in book 8 doesn’t even know what pot looks like. I’m hoping it’s just a low in the series and not the direction the series is going.

WTF with the narrator?????

I couldn't even finish book 8 (Aris read through book 7). I even like Hollis McCarthy when she has read other books I have heard but this was SO BAD!!! It just made the three girls sound incredibly stupid and Thistle sounded like a very brainless boy! It really makes me sad because I want to know what happens next and she reads the rest of the series. But I just can't even listen to it! I guess I will just read them instead. Quel Dommage!!!

This story is to good to be told hollis

Aris at least can keep characters voice straight. Hollis has gave them all the same voice and sound like they all were from Brooklyn. I was so horrified when got to book 8 it was hard to take how she butcher the characters. I love how the dinner theater and family dynamics are written.

Good, but the whining is over the top

I like all but the whining and over the top relationship complaining. The rest is all good

Voices should not change

It was very distracting that the voices from 1-6 book was different from rest. Thistles voice was very distracting she sounded like a man. I didn’t like the change. It made the book not pleasant to listen.

Still a great story

Iove the stories. I got used to Hollis from another book. I also think being partial to certain readers does distract from the great story. I still love the stories. Love both readers.
