About this listen

When Jackson St. James decided that six weeks in Vermont's Green Mountains would help him get his life together, he didn't anticipate replacing his craving for whiskey with a craving for his alluring new landlord, Gabby. Now, instead of prioritizing his sobriety and the resolution of the lawsuit threatening his business, he's making excuses to spend time with the spunky young landscaper whose candor is more than a little addictive.

Gabby Bouchard refuses to let her pill-popping mother and unreliable baby daddy turn her into a cynic, so she doesn't fight her attraction to her enigmatic new tenant. Although Jackson's smile rarely reaches his eyes, his generosity and dependability make her willing to overlook his demons. But once she convinces him to give in to temptation, Gabby's jealous ex threatens to disrupt the life she has built for herself and her son.

With so much at stake, Gabby and Jackson must decide if love is worth the risk.

Great series!

I enjoyed the series, David, Kat and Jackson's stories were great, relatable. Now I don't want to be negative, but I can't find not one good quality in Mr. James, their father. I understand tough love, but he didn't project that. I didn't like the way he handled the "divulsion" at all. Very arrogant, no consideration, he is all about himself. Had no right to say anything negative about their mother, especially after she had passed away. Honestly I would like a book about him, but maybe not because I don't like him at all, unless it's a plot where he's in for a "rude awakening".

A TRUE ROMANCE

This book is full of love and twists. With Jackson getting away from the city and his family so that he can relieve the pressure he's been under for such a long time you don't expect him to find a place outside of his life to be so comfortable.

He finds a small town and a great doctor to help him heal from his past. Finding a woman on the side of the road with car trouble is just a start to him finding a young woman who is wise beyond her years. She helps him get through a lot of his problems while she shares hers with him.

Having Jackson to help her when her father has a stroke is only the beginning. She has a young son named Luke, whose father is a pain of a cop that tries bullying her on a regular basis.

When Jackson makes his mind up all bets are off and he changes the way his family has always expected him to be.

Worth Reading!

I was convinced I had covered this series but was happy to find I hadn't. I enjoyed this very much, as I do most of Jamie's books. The only con for me was having a male narrator all the time. Men just can't get female voices! Otherwise just great.

Beautiful story, but poor choice for performer

And I have really enjoyed all of the St. James stories . But the performer on this one does not have a good range for female characters. His voice for females makes them all sound like Drag Queens. Which is a bit creepy considering that half the story was a female. I almost stoped after hearing a couple of his female voices. I’m glad I stuck it out because the story was well written.

Great Finale!

Narrating, not so great. Not consistent to the other two books in the series. Voices were pretty corny too.

Voice

I liked the book , but I feel it would have been better if the the woman's part should have been narrated by a female voice

Great Series about Family bonds and true love.

Read (listened to) all three books in a row in 3 days! Story of family struggle, friendship, and love. The characters were down to earth with real life emotions and I looked forward to hearing how each of them found comfort, forgiveness and love. Sometimes I would "roll my eyes" and think, "oh, get over it already", but all in all, I enjoyed the series. In book 3 I couldn't seem to get past the narrator saying "ViVi" when in the first two books her name was clearly ",Vivee", but maybe that's just me.

Worth The Risk

This series has been great and now we have the conclusion with Jackson's story. Each of the siblings have had their problems and dealt with them in different ways. Jackson dealt with his demons by diving into a bottle of booze. After an altercation at work his family forces an intervention and he leaves his business in the hands of his best friend and goes on vacation to Vermont to get his head together. What he doesn't expect is to meet Gabby, his landlord's daughter, who is a single mom who has a strength to rival any man. She was just what Jackson needed. Will they be what they needed for each other? This was a great series and I recommend it.
