About this listen

Carmen Ronaldo is my enemy and my obsession. I'll conquer her and make her mine.

For years, Carmen has hated me. I seduced her to learn her family's secrets, and then I used those secrets to fracture the Ronaldo cartel, taking half of their territory for myself. I made myself a king, but I've never been fully satisfied in my victory.

I've never experienced regret. The emotions that rule weaker men don't affect me. Until her. I've waited far too long to claim Carmen for myself. My feisty little kitten might hate me for taking her as my captive, but she'll surrender herself to me. I'll protect her from all her enemies.

Except myself.

My cage will be her refuge, my rules her fortress. Carmen is no longer my enemy. She's just mine.

Wicked King - 5 Stars!

I have more than enjoyed this series. It’s become one of my all time favorites. But this one, so far, is my favorite. Stefano and Carmen’s story is bewitching and left me craving more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!!

Not my favorite of the books

I was not a fan of this story. I fell in love with the other characters especially the male characters, but for some reason I did not connect with this one. To call her my pet was not my favorite at all. The narrator male was screaming too much and the accent was just terrible. Sorry

Love the story but hate the accents

This is a great story and I love the whole series but the make Spanish accents sound way over done and really take some time to get use to. I never understand why the female almost never have an accent and the males are super heavy. Out side of that, I love the book.

Accent overdone

I was so distracted trying to get over the accent I couldn’t hear the story. Had to keep going back to see if what I heard was write.

Male narrator

The story was ok, just the male narrator got to carried away with the story! He needs to stop yelling, and adding so much drama to his voice!
Female narrator was great!

Narration

Liked the story line, but like the other books, the male narration was difficult to listen too.

Wicked King

Hmm, I am at a lost for words with Stefano and Carmen’s story. They truly do belong together. Although it’s difficult for Stefano to show or express his emotions and feels he do love Carmen and shows it to her the only way he can. I must say that Carmen has been hurt countless times but the love and honesty Stefano gives her helps to heal her. I must say that I love Stefano’s mind and the way it works. I also love that Carmen is very tenacious and determined once her mind is set. Most of all I love that Stefano has come to terms that it’s greater to have Carmen by his side in his life.

Getting through the male narrator is painful

But the story and the female narrator make it worth the effort. I needed this story before moving through the series. Wicked King held critical information to the series storylines. Overall, the story is the best part and Julia Sykes should have better choices for her narrators!

DNF

Dnf due to male voice. Distracting and couldn’t focus on the story. The accent was not a winner for me.
