Publisher's summary

Scott Cunningham's classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick but also about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much-needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth. Cunningham presents Wicca as it is today: a gentle, Earth-oriented religion dedicated to the Goddess and God. Wicca also includes Cunningham's own Book of Shadows.

Great starting point

This is a wonderful place to start for anyone interested in Wicca and witchcraft. This book, coupled with "Living Wicca" by Scott Cunningham, provides an excellent baseline for which the solitary practitioner can begin their craft. If you're looking for something that will teach you powerful spell or how to level your foes, skip this title. But if what you seek is spiritual balance, give this book a try.

Great Start for Witches

I was told to start here with witchcraft books and it was insightful and very in-depth.

Good book to present to a skeptic!

Very down to earth logical book. There are still some aspects I'm skeptical of. Very little of the book is the stuff some might refer to as "imaginary". This is a book which definitely simplifies the Wicca craft for easy understanding while learning how to be a witch. I am not wiccan, but I do practice yoga and zen. Most of this book engages the importance of intent and positive energy as well as respect and admiration of our beautiful earth. If I was to recommend a book for witchcraft that wouldn't scare someone off, or had to recommend a book for a skeptic to read on the subject, this book would be it! Very well written!

Great for beginners

Any additional comments?

This book would be great for those who starting out. It breaks allot of things down to make them easier to understand. Although if you would like to learn symbols you should purchase a hard copy of the book as well for reference. Even if you are not a sole practitioner, if you need a deeper understanding and explanation to some aspects of wicca then this is the book for you!

Wicca is the best to understand the mystery.

It was good to hear everything I've read. And to hear how natural it all is. No real mystery involved. Just do what you will, harming none.

A Classic Guide for Solitary Wiccans

I have read this book before in college, but lately I am finding Wicca calling to my spirit again. I bought the dead tree version and the audible version. just finished reading it and it is still as on point as I recall. The performer was okay, definitely not the voice I hear in my head .

New comer

I’m new to Wicca, I was referred this book by a blog. I want to study and change my life. Nature has always called me, this book definitely gave good pointers; the author helped guide me and answered a lot of the questions/confusions I had about this practice. I have past connections with Wicca in my childhood without knowing them and now it pushed me further!
