Publisher's summary

On July 30, 2010, Matt and Emily were blessed with the birth of a healthy baby boy, Carter Matthew Abbott. Just six days later, Matt and Emily were faced with the decision to either take Carter off of life support or continue down a path with little to no hope of a life or future for their newborn son.

Who Is Carter? is the true story of how the Abbotts embraced possibilities over limitations, and discovered how the Anat Baniel Method offered those possibilities of hope and healing. In Carter’s short lifetime, he influenced everyone around him, leading not only his parents but his entire extended network of family and friends to reexamine their own personal struggles. Beautiful and inspiring, this book reveals how the Abbott family’s tragedy transformed into a miracle beyond imagination. The book marks the start of a new journey Matt and Emily are taking to empower people who are facing their own tragedies. They founded the Who Is Carter Foundation to encourage hope and belief through creating possibilities and taking action.

Determined special parents

This is a good listen for many reasons. Beautifully narrated and a lovingly cooperative family journey. A glimpse into the world of medical uncertainties and determined parents. As an Anat Baniel Method (ABM) practitioner in training, I am again reminded and encouraged to see the possibilities that others have yet to discover. As a nurse, I am certain that medicine has limitations and horizons yet to be discovered. As an Aunt of a child limited by CP, I am hopeful and delighted as we watch my own niece change before our eyes. Finally, as a believer in Jesus, I see Gods healing hand in the hearts of parents who know the devastating loss of a child.
Thank you for sharing Carter’s story. I only hope God will see fit to use us as greatly as He has you.

Authentic and Inspiring

Extremely worthwhile and useful. For any parent who wants to better support their child, a change in perspective is the first step. And this book reveals the power of ‘possibility’. It’s a mindset shift that makes an incredible difference. It’s one thing to understand the concept of focusing on what’s possible, but it’s exponentially better to embody it. The gift in this book is that it does exactly that. Matt and Emily’s journey was profound, incredibly challenging and beautiful at the same time. They transcended the challenge and other parents can as well.
