About this listen

Welcome to Alienn, Arkansas where the aliens from outer space hide in plain sight at the Big Bang Truck Stop.

Gage Gage Grey is happily buried in his lab when folks in Alienn, Arkansas, suddenly start falling—literally—asleep and can’t be woken up. The big brain of the Grey clan better solve this problem in a hurry, because the seven-year Earth Colony inspection is looming. If everyone is asleep when the inspection team arrives, that might be the end of the Big Bang Truck Stop, abovestairs and below.

A trained pilot, Charlotte Westbrook has worked hard to earn respect in her role as a science officer for the Technician Class Technology Institute on Alpha-Prime. She’s puzzled but intrigued when she’s diverted from a mission to go to the Earth Colony—and not unhappy at all to work with a handsome fellow scientist. As Gage and Charlotte get closer to finding a cure, evidence starts to pile up against her. Now, not only do they have to heal the sick Alphas, they have to find out who the real villain is. Because Gage minus sweet, smart Charlotte is one equation he refuses to solve.

Writing Is Not Good Enough

This book is bad. The writing is not up to par. I don't understand how this was published let alone how there is an entire series. Nothing makes sense and most of the time nobody is doing anything. I don't mean it's a slice of life story and you might find it boring. No, I mean nothing is ever happening. The author tells us that the mmc works in the lab but we don't know what it looks like, what the actual work entails, what kind of equipment or processes there are. The fmc gets text messages with job instructions but hasn't heard in person from her dad or her boss let alone any friends, but she doesn't try to contact anyone. Ever. The security chief is constantly in a rage for some reason, even though everyone but the fmc he interacts with is one of his brothers. At one point someone mentions it's been a few days and I realized no one has ever gone home or to their quarters or mentioned sleeping, waking up, leaving work, going to work, eating, resting, anything. Where do these people live? I don't know and I don't care. It's not easy to give a review without spoilers so I don't really know how to give any more examples of how poorly written this book is. I hope you'll get the gist and save yourself the frustration. I was excited to try this book because I would love a new series connected to Nocture Falls but unfortunately this won't be it.
