odd but quite stellar in an unusual way

Interesting, and neither your basic cult story nor love story but somehow a unique blend of both. I enjoyed the author's unique figurative"voice" as well as the narrator's sexy British literal voice, and I am interested in hearing more of both...

Not his best

I would have to say that out of all the Mark Edwards books I have read, this is my least favorite.

Not a single leaf label character in the book.

There’s nobody to root for here. They’re all ridiculous people who do the dumbest things. There’s just nobody who keeps my attention. Spent the entire time being frustrated and hoping someone would do something smart.

An adequate book. Good read, not great.

The narrator was very easy to listen to. It was why I stuck with the book.

An otherworldly novel

This book was quite different from the quality I've come to love by Mark Edwards. The story and narration was strong, I just find this genre is not really one of my favorites. Wonderful, however, for those seeking life beyond our planet.

Good

Thankfully not a sci-fi. Not my favorite Mark Edwards book but it was still decent enough to finish to the end.

Aliens and cookie girlfriends

So a guy falls for a pretty girl and disregards her unbalanced behavior. Her belief in Aliens coming to take her and her fellow chosen ones off to paradise in another galaxy. One day she disappears and he follows her all the way to America to find her, even faking belief in aliens himself.

Ok. Enough of the plot. I have read enough by this author (listened) to know that the guy seems to be the same in all the stories. He is a guy who falls almost obsessively in love with a beautiful girl who is somehow not who she seems, who betrays him in some way.

This love I just couldn't buy. Why would the guy fall so hard for someone with beliefs so opposed to his own, someone who is obsessed with her beliefs. So what if she is beautiful? She was a crackpot. Sorry to all you alien believers out there.

Good but not his best

Another easy-to-read, fast paced story by Mark Edwards. This one is exploring the dangers of sinister cults and the strengths of beliefs. Richard's girl-friend Mary believes in aliens. She is completely devoted to this cause. Richard is a non-believer. Then Mary vanishes and Richard goes on a thrilling search to find her leading him to some dark sections of society.
Because of the alien theme I wasn't sure whether this would be my kind of book, but it turned out to be another really compelling suspenseful thriller. I just love Mark Edward's writing style. He creates characters that come to life and you become invested in what is happening to them. Ok, not his best book, but still thoroughly enjoyable.
The narrator did a good job and was pleasant to listen to.

Mark is brilliant

I really have enjoyed all of Mark Edward’s books and he has become one of my favorites. This story was probably my least favorite. I was expected more of a twist at the end, like his others. Overall good, just not my favorite of his.

What You Wish For

Not the best book I have read from Mark Edwards, found it not as exciting as his other books and while the story was not bad, it didn't draw me into it. I still love his books and will definently keep reading them. The narration was okay.
