About this listen

When Alice Love surfaces from a beautiful dream to find she's been injured in a gym, she knows that something is very wrong – she hates exercise. Alice's first concern is her baby – she's pregnant with her first child, and she's desperate to see her husband, Nick, whom she knows will be worried about her. But Alice isn't pregnant. And Nick isn't worried. Alice is the mother of three children and her hostile husband is in the process of divorcing her. Alice has lost ten years of her life.

In the days that follow, small bubbles of the past rise to the surface, and Alice is forced to confront uncomfortable truths. It turns out forgetting might be the most memorable thing that's ever happened to her.

Liane Moriarty’s best

This is by far my favorite book from Liane Moriarty. The story is funny, romantic, compelling and well told.
Liane is able to capture the joys and struggles so many women go through in their life in a masterfully way.

Truly could identify

I am the real-life Elizabeth! Whether you have been through fertility treatments or not. This book really brings home the heartbreaking journey, the trauma, the disappointments the isolation you live in when walking this path.
I loved this book, it reminded me that we have to remember who we are and keep working at our marriages. We should be able to ask for help without feeling guilty or being full of criticism and we should try to be present in every moment. Love this narrator - she brings all of the characters to life!

Really beautiful!

The publishers summary does not do this beautiful story justice. It's funny and emotional and completely pulls you in. Really enjoyed it

I am glad I finished it

This book started really slowly for me. I almost gave up on it. I find it dragged on until about the last third of it. Notwithstanding, the author's creativity and writing style was 'delicious' from start to finish - the choice of words, phrases, the expressions, humour, had me giggling as well as at the narrator's accent and intonations. The character development is superb. All of the characters came to life and they were so well described you could picture them and feel for them. The story evoked lots of emotions - pain, empathy, anger, dislike, fear, laughter. I loved Franny and the novel idea of a blog. That was hilarious, I actually looked forward to those parts of the story. It's just that the story dragged on for too long initially. I particularly gained a deeper appreciation for women with infertility issues and am happy at the outcomes except Nick's, but I understand. I am glad I stuck with it to the end. I think I will go hit my head now lol
