About this listen

'We all have to do our part if we’re to survive the coming storm.'

Alexandra Jennings might be the hero of The Medoran Chronicles, but she would be lost without her three closest friends. They are her heroes, and like all heroes, they each have their own story.

Meet the real D.C. in 'Crowns and Curses' and discover how she becomes the princess Alex once despised but now adores.

Follow Jordan on his healing journey in 'Scars and Silence' as he struggles in the wake of being rescued from his living nightmare.

Walk beside Bear in 'Hearts and Headstones' as he faces an unspeakable trauma while helping his world prepare for the coming war.

D.C., Jordan and Bear are the heroes of their own stories.

It is time for their stories to be told.

Nice filler

the stories were very informative, nice to get the back story for D.C. and what Jordan went through after being released from Aven. The first 2 narrators were great. But although Bear's story was good, the voice actor made me cringe with his voice for Declan. Dude sounded like he was like a 40 year man from the south. Still glad I listened to it!

DISAPPOINTED BY THE VOICES

The story is nice, to hear the background on the other characters and a little more of what's going on through their eyes was refreshing after the heart breaking ending of the previous one, but THE VOICES!.. UGH! HORRIBLE.

The pace, the tone, the inflictions.. terrible all 3 of them.. I much would have preferred the original voice of the other books reading this one too.

Inconsistent Pronunciation

Appreciate the character back stories but I hated that words were pronounced differently from earlier novels.

Voice Actor Review

As always, amazing story! But, instead of having the usual narrator, there were 3 (one for each person), which I have to admit was pretty cool and the first two were great. I generally don't like to leave negative comments, but the third narrator was not the best. He didn't pronounce any of the 'world' words the same as the narrators before him which was kind of disorienting. There were more than a couple of times he would say names and I had to pause the recording and think about who he was talking about. His voice acting skills were also kind of disruptive. He has a great voice with an amazing range for sure, but after listening to the main narrator and then the 2 narrators before him, his take on the characters' voices threw me off quite a bit. I will admit, I didn't quite envision Declan to have such a deep, almost morgan freeman sounding voice after the other narrators all consistently portrayed more of a young male adult voice. When he first started talking in his low masculine voice, it actually made me jump it was so unexpected! Again, very talented actor, just wish the author or someone in Audible listened to his recording and corrected a few things.

Great Series!!

I have one book left. I would love to see this book in the movies. Its a great Sci-fi magical series. I have been hooked since the first.
This book was a good fill in on the things that were not in the first three books. Ms Noni you have created a great series!

Maybe teach the narrator the pronunciations

Great story to bridge between books 4&5, but the narrators have clearly never bothered to listen to the rest of the series because the pronunciations vary from narrator to narrator and some are incredibly wrong. Seems like lazy preparation on the part of the narrators.

It's nice

It is a nice distraction to see our other heroes perspectives, however, with the huge plot line hanging from the previous book, I was sorely tempted to just pass this over. I didn't, and I guess it's OK for the last 5 minutes catch up to the end of the previous book and into the next...

wait until after reading book 5

I struggled to finish it... I did like that it gave insight into the characters...
I would recommend listening after book 5 because of the change on narration style.

loved that we got back stories for the secondary characters that gives them more depth.

Narrators made it hard to enjoy

The original series has literal pronunciations published in them…it’s like these narrators didn’t even ask how to say some of the names/words. Made it harder to focus on and enjoy the stories, as great as they were.
