About this listen

When a parcel bomb explodes on Charles Denham's doorstep he realises that an enemy from the past is out to destroy him. This is the thrilling story of a man being hunted by an unidentified assassin across rural Buckinghamshire and then the Cotswolds in the mid 1950s. The last quarter of the book takes place over one night as the hero (and his previously unseen enemy, the "watcher in the shadows") agree to have a duel while out riding on the Cotswolds.

Not unabridged!!!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Live up to your description that it is unabridged. The abridgment leaves out far too much subtle detail that gives the story it's true flavor.

Exceptional vocabulary, picturesque descriptions

See title above for complete, albeit condensed review, which is all I care to share
