About this listen

Jack and the crew of the Crimson Alliance have finally made it back from the Realm of Order, but the threat to Eldgard is deadlier than ever.

Vogthar incursions are increasing, dungeons falling in droves, towns and cities ravaged by Darklings—Players and NPCs who have willingly sided with the Dark Overmind Thanatos. But thanks to a priceless artifact Jack found after defeating the Lich Priest, there might be a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Jack and company have unearthed a Doom-Forged relic, one part of an ancient weapon capable of killing even a god. But to assemble the legendary god-killer, they'll need to find the other relics and locate the fabled Doom Forge of the Dwarven godling Khalkeús, all while unraveling a mystery five hundred years in the making.

Good book glad he cut back on the word beat

Good continuation of the story. Much less use of the phrase in a beat although it seems he’s started replacing it with in an instance. Also he’s toned down the umbra bog. Over all good book author seems to be moving away from repetitive word use.

I appreciate the sentiment.

It isn't often that an author will come around and start to finish up a series that they started. and for that I do appreciate the sentiment.

Although, I do feel that the story core of the LIT RPG slipped away from the both the author and the listeners.

there was no more enthusiastic "gamer" progression with the stats. almost no fun humor cutter remarks. Amara had maybe 3 lines in the entire book but was there for a good portion.

Listening to the story itself it felt like the author was forced to write this book out as a chore. and similarly. it felt like a chore to listen to this book.

Another Excellent Addition!

James Hunter is a master class author by himself, weaving intricate stories amongst brilliant world and character creation. All brought to life even further by Mr. Armen Taylor! Along with the reveal of one of the coolest abilities imaginable, makes Doom Forge an excellent addition and a no-brainer to read/ listen.

A bit long winded, but good.

As your listening you’ll already know what’s gonna happen about 30 minutes ahead. James Hunter is a long winded author, almost going overboard on descriptions of simple unimportant things.. cool if it actually was something fascinating. However it’s used in the most mundane areas of the book as to drag out a report to meet a certain word count. The love stories these LITRPG authors try to fit into their books is tiresome. In book 6 James hunter has not gone overboard in the “love” in the story which is quite refreshing. A lot of the tension and build up is good but I was not impressed or overexcited about anything in book 6. Great time listening to Armen Taylor. Would recommend using a credit or buying this book if you continue reading this series. Will buy next one.
