Publisher's summary

BENJAMIN GOLD: I thought I was going to be a successful sports star, maybe a famous veterinarian, or maybe I'd open up another sanctuary, following in my moms' footsteps. None of that happened. Life's light seemed to turn off for me, and I was having a really hard time turning the spark back on.

Then, on my twenty-fourth birthday, in comes the one surprise I wanted most and liked the least: Rex freaking Madison. My older brother's best friend, my first crush, my first time. And my absolute worst nightmare.

Somewhere, deep down under the cobwebs in my chest, a spark lit.

REX MADISON: I'd been coasting, living under my dad's oppressive shadow while using his bank account to keep rent paid and alcohol flowing. Now, I was being blackmailed for a sex tape I never consented to.

My best friend offered me a place to stay, and I took it.

One look from Benji was all it took for everything to derail again. It had been six years since we saw each other last, ending an incredible time on a terrible note. Benji had taught me how to love myself—all of myself-back then, and now I wanted to return the favor, no matter how much time may have separated us.

Contains mature themes.

Really good

Second book, no need to listen to the first. although, its also really good. definitely, a standalone. Twin brothers best friend, a sex tape and some great romance. Max Walker writes a really good story and No one performs better than Greg Boudreaux. he brings such great individual personalities to all of the characters. his voice makes the sex scenes smoking hot. this book and the first are both well worth the credit and your time to listen.

Bk2 better than Bk1 -- Enjoyed!

Bk2 has way more interesting and likeable MCs. Light and fluffy, lots of sap, and more teasers about The Dove. I'm headed into the next book so I can find out who it is!

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: reasonable pace, likeable characters. I'd call it an easy listen.
I liked the character development in this one, the way Rex had body image issues and the way Benji kept telling him he was perfect. I'm enjoying my time at the Gold sanctuary and will definitely follow it up with the third instalment.
.. it is starting to creep into "a little too much s*xy time for me", but by the end I just started to fast forward through it all.

🎧 Narrator comment: Greg Boudreaux can do no wrong (in my opinion). He suits the characters, has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance and he bought the story to life.

Superb narration of a perfect book

I’m loving this Gold Brothers series! It’s the ideal length for me as I can get through it in a day, and Boudreau’s performance is stellar as per usual. Plenty of laugh out loud moments and just the right amount of angst with some great steamy scenes. I’m so happy I stumbled upon this author and series, it’s wonderful getting to know different characters in the beautiful Gold blended family.

Odd pacing for a good story

This story has three basic mysteries. One is solved about when exp cited. One is solved as an almost afterthought, and one appears to be bridging into the next book in the series. I found it a bit frustrating but will go on to the next in hopes of a satisfying resolution. As always, Greg narrates this in such a way as to elevate the story to its best level.
