The story keeps you on the edge the entire time, and the love between the two main characters is incredible. I highly recommend this book.

Wonderful, story, great narration

First off, Greg Boudreaux is one of my favorite narrators. I didn’t get the book because of him, but I loved the way he distinguished the two MCs with his vocal placements and accents. The prose was at many times truly lovely. The story was very good, though I felt the wrap-up of the mystery was a bit too facile.

One thing that perplexes me is that the segue at the end doesn’t seem to lead into the synopsis I read of the next book in the series, and I wonder how much of these characters I will have the pleasure of following if I read the sequel. As much as I enjoyed this, though, and the series it spun off of, I might just get the next book!

Max Walker always writes a great story. Greg Boudreaux has never given a bad narrating performance. put the two together and you have a great story to listen to. Nice to see more Stonewall Investigations stories even after the first series ended...

I’m a fan of Max Walker and have read many of his books, every stonewall book, but I found this one lacked in the love scenes. I was disappointed that many passages gave a brief mention of bedroom action, but non of the details I’ve come to expect of a Walker book. It wasn’t until the very end of the book that gave a couple of detailed scenes. I appreciated them, don’t get me wrong, it’s just that I don’t want to wait until the end for the spice.

I enjoyed this story and getting to meet the new residents of Blue Creek NH. I was able to comfortably suspend disbelief and enjoy the listen. I’m almost kicked out of the story when I can’t accept that this town has so much going on for it business wise. I’m from a town of 20k people and it doesn’t have most of the businesses this place does. Just have to remember that really big events can happen in very small places in this universe. The intimate scenes were basically recycled gay porn (not very believable). My only complaint was the intimate scene where they did not use lube, even though it was available. Taking 60 sec to walk to the nightstand for lube beats being in pain for days.. Suspend disbelief and you’ll really enjoy this story thoroughly. On to the 2nd listen.
