About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor.

As a storm rages across the Mediterranean Sea, a terrifying distress call is made to the Italian Coast Guard. Days later a body washes ashore.

Identified as a high-value terrorism suspect (who had disappeared three years prior), his name sends panic through the Central Intelligence Agency.

Where was he headed? What was he planning? And could he be connected to the "spectacular attack" they have been fearing all summer?

In a race against time, the CIA taps an unorthodox source to get answers: Navy SEAL turned covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath.

Hired on a black contract, Harvath will provide the deniability the United States needs while he breaks every rule along the way.

Packed with pulse-pounding action, fascinating characters, and electrifying intrigue, Brad Thor does it again and proves why he is known around the world as the "Master of Thrillers".

Includes a bonus interview with the author.

Great action and pace. I love how Thor doesn't make you wait 3 chapters to hear if an RPG hits the target or not!! Point being, let's of Harvath, lots of action, which I loved.

Great read!

Scott Havath is at it again! This time in Italy, stopping terror and kicking ass just like we expect him to.

Brilliant!

Sadly, Thor’s writing has gone downhill. There is way too much gratuitous violence. Thor has turned Harvath into a psycho.

This book reads like it was written on a laptop in Starbucks in two or three afternoons.

This was my first Brad Thor novel. I greatly respect and appreciate his deep knowledge of security and terrorism matters, so urgently important today.
But I was somewhat disappointed by this climax, after lots of tension and horror in the buildup to it, I didn't like the occasional profanity (unnecessary to the otherwise riveting passages where he tosses it in; apparently obligatory in today's fiction) and I thought the "Audible" reader mediocre (unconvincing foreign accents; often wrong inflections).
All this said - Thor and writers like him do us an invaluable service - as he says himself in a post-story description of his writing intentions - in "anticipating" with accurate factual information woven throughout their fiction - what might well happen, especially if our HEROIC national security guardians, military and civilian, aren't CONSTANTLY protecting us. God BLESS them one and all!

Urgently Important Story But ...
