About this listen

A sinister phone call in the middle of the night throws tearoom sleuth, Gemma Rose, straight into the heart of a new murder - featuring a mysterious killing in the cloisters of an old Oxford college. The investigation points to scandals and feuds within the University, but Gemma finds unexpected clues popping up in her little Cotswolds village as she sets out to solve the mystery with the help of her mischievous tabby cat, Muesli. Meanwhile, her quaint English tearoom is in trouble, with kitchen explosions galore and a missing pastry chef...and her love life is in turmoil as she struggles to decide between the dashing Dr Lincoln Green and her old college flame, sexy CID detective Devlin O'Connor. Add an exasperating mother driving her as nutty as a fruitcake and the nosy Old Biddies meddling at every turn...can Gemma solve the mystery and save her best friend from a life behind bars?

Love this series !

Easy listening, interesting mystery storylines...with quaintness tossed in. Very enjoyable to listen to books without gruesomeness. The narrator does a wonderful performance. Mellow, easy going, and pleasant.......

Refreshing

For many years I have enjoyed reading deep, dark psychological thrillers. It is so refreshing to read a book that is interesting yet light and not boring. Pearl Hewitt tells the story (not just reads it) and pulled me in with her amazing performance. The story itself is well written and even though this book is part of a series that I have not listened to, I understood everything that was going on. I'm sure I will continue the series in the future as well as read the two that I missed.

I was given this book at no charge for my honest and unbiased review.

This series gets better and better!...

Two Down, Bun to Go is an excellent cozy mystery. This is the third book in the series, and each one I've read has been better than the last. In this one, Gemma's good friend and old Oxford chum, Seth Browning, has been accused of murdering an Oxford professor, and Gemma is determined to prove Seth's innocence. The Old Biddies; three old ladies who help Gemma out at her Tearoom from time to time, and meddle in murder investigations, are HILARIOUS in this book, as are Gemma's mother's antics. Little mischievous Muesli the cat is still getting into things he ought not, and an education in British life is always fulfilling and a bonus. This is the fourth book I've read in the series (including the prequel), and it's my favorite. The audio narrator truly brings the stories to life. She does a stupendous job with the characters' voices and emotions. I love this series so much, and you're guaranteed to love it too.

Great Book!

Another gem from H.Y. Hanna! And Pearl Hewitt has done an amazing job narrating, as always. The Old Biddies have a smaller part this time, but are no less hilarious with their shenanigans. I love how Hanna presents all the clues for the reader to try to figure out who the killer is. I love trying to figure it out for myself, though I rarely get it right.

Another fun and murderous trip to Oxford!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Expertly narrated (one again!!!) by Pearl Hewitt. Ms. Hewitt does an excellent job with all of the characters voices.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that it involved Seth, and we were able to learn more about him and the ins and outs of the university.

Which scene was your favorite?

So many to choose from, I would have to say when Gemma was sneaking around Oxford. I kept waiting for her to get called out. :-)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It didn't make me cry, but it did make me laugh out loud several times. I like my murder mysteries light, and HY Hanna is an expert and producing light-hearted, but suspenseful, cozy mysteries.

Any additional comments?

Please continue publishing the Audible versions of these stories! :-)
