Publisher's summary

My brother was right. I always wanted my own Willow girl.

What happened on that island didn’t break me. It twisted me. Corrupted me. Made me into a monster.

Although, I guess, it’s true what she says. You can’t become something that wasn’t inside you all along.

This was always going to happen. I was always going to take Amelia Willow. History and destiny sealed her fate. Sealed both of ours.

For months, I’ve been waiting. Watching. Preparing.

And tonight, everything will change. Because tonight, I’ll collect my own Willow girl.

Author’s note: Twisted is a stand-alone spin-off of the Dark Legacy Duet. No cliff-hanger!

So twisted and Torn!

Finally, Gregory gets his story! While this is a stand alone spin off, if you want to get the full effect, it's best listened to after the Dark Legacy Duet. We first meet Gregory in Taken, as we learn about the Willow girls and the legacy, we see how damaged Gregory becomes. This story lets him find his own way. After leaving the island, Gregory twisted soul yearns for his own Willow girl. The best revenge is to go after Amelia, Helena's younger sister. But what he doesn't know is she is just as damaged as he is. Natasha Knight's tale takes us through the mind of Gregory, his tortured soul, how he takes it out on Amelia and how she responds to him. It's dark, dangerous and delicious!

Narration of this story is impeccable. Michael Pauley plays the dark tortured soul to a "T", feeling his pain with all the emotions and inflections of his voice. He is the perfect cast for this role. Opposite him is MacKenzie Cartwright with the same ability to pull us into Amelia's pain and yearn for the happiness she seeks. I love narration teams that have the ability to let us feel the characters and these two could not have been a better match.

INCREDIBLE! EXPLOSIVE! COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN...

Natasha Knight, You're an AMAZING and Very TALENTED Writer. I wish I could give you 100⭐'s for your Vision alone but Audible doesn't have a Category for that unfortunately. Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside that beautiful head of yours and if the light switch ever turns off???

After listening to "Taken & Torn," I knew Gregory had to have a story but didn't know how you would spin it. Well, you more than out did yourself, you quadrupled it.
Don't get wrong, you did an AWARDED WINNING PERFORMANCE on both "Taken & Torn," but what you gave to Gregory's story; "Twisted" stands in a class all it's OWN...

Gregory plotted and schemed to get Amelia Willow; his reasons not pure, you'll learn throughout the book. He lies over and over how he happens to be in the same place @ the same moment she's about to be forced to do something she doesn't want to do.

What does Natasha Knight has instored for Amelia and Gregory? All I'm sharing is, It's VERY EXPLOSIVE! VERY POWERFUL! VERY REAL! IT INVOLVES DRAWINGS! and THERE ARE GHOSTS INVOLVED! Just make sure if you're a coffee drinker that you have a pot hot & ready for you. You will not be able to put it down until it's finished, TRUST ME.

Although "Twisted" is considered a standalone, it would be advised that you listen to "Taken and Torn" prior to listening to "Twisted," because it has a lot of information that will help you understand what you learn in this book.

Let's talk about are EXTRA- EXTRAORDINARY narrator's Michael Pauley and Mackenzie Cartwright. 1st,I want to give them both a STANDING OVATIONS for their Kick-Ass PERFORMANCE!!! I give you both 5-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, wish it could be more but that's all Audible will allow us to give you guys. So just know if it was possible, I would give you more.

You both engulfed your characters and you made them real to The Listener; to me. When I heard you speak I believe you both to be Amelia and Gregory. I didn't think that you just took on the part, I didn't think that you just took on the job, I believe you to become the character themselves and you made them come to life right in my ears and if I close my eyes, it made it even more real to me. I know you had to a feel it because I did and I just can't even find all the words to describe how it came over through my speakers, to my ears and to my mind. You guys did more than GREAT WONDERFUL STORYTELLING, like I said; there's just not one word that can describe what you did for me 👍👍 2 👊👊 and all of that.

HELL YEAH, I recommend this book to others and I definitely recommend to listen to "Taken and Torn" before you listen to this one because as I said earlier in my review it will really help you to understand why everything happened as it did...

Should have been a trilogy.

This should have been included with the duet and made a trilogy, instead of a standalone, bad marketing decision. Loved Gregory's character in the duet. He situation in the duet was a terrible place to be in. Amelia's character was ok. I felt she was a bit wimpy. I felt there should have been more dream scenes to make the novel slightly longer and intense with her storyline. I really loved Stefan from the Collateral Damage duet making an appearance as an actual mob boss whose character I love. Overall I was surprised I enjoyed this story which is my favorite out of the three stories. Michael Pauley's performance was intense. Ms. Cartwright did a good job as well. I felt the story came to the proper conclusion with all storylines reaching a final ending with a HEA. Agree, you do have to read the duet before hand, if not you won't understand what is going on.

Unsure

To be perfectly honest - I didn’t read the first two so I’m missing what they went through together, even with that I did actually like the book. I would probably would have preferred to have read this one … I feel terrible writing this, but the male narrator made me feel like I was listening to a Horse Race with the excitement of two horses coming around the bend neck and neck and oh my it’s going to be a photo finish!!! It was weird and took away from the story - I just felt like he was an announcer screaming his lines or something- I listen to a lot of audible books, and this is the first time I’ve felt compelled enough to write about the narration itself, I usually can get past it …. This was just weird and not for me. Sorry - no disrespect intended - I would give the narrator another try - maybe it was just this story - it’s an intense story, so I’m guessing that’s what he was going for … but it was simply distracting.

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed Gregory's story. there were moments in the first 2 books that made me cringe. I still enjoyed but feel like this one was a bit softer but still dark. wraped the series up with a true HEA

so twisted

So twisted! Soooo good! Stop! if you haven't read Broken and Torn, read those first. They all go together and will explain the Willow girls and all that happened with Gregory and his brother. There is a lot to unpack here ... the curse, the kidnapping, the bird, the murder, the visions, her drawings, the branding and the tattoos, Lucinda, the babies and the reunion of the brothers.

SO DAMN GOOD.. BUT BEST TREATED AS BOOK 3

To get the best from this audiobook, IMO, it would definitely be best heard AFTER the Dark Legacy Duet (Taken and Torn) because those two books go into greater depth about the whole twisted legacy of the Willow girl ancient tradition. They will also give you a better insight into the relationship between Gregory, Sebastian and Helena, they will give you a feel for what torment and emotional pain Gregory went through during the ‘reaping’ and they will reveal the complex, dark and twisted build-up to the trio’s relationship and very steamy ménage. And I personally had ABSOLUTELY no problem at all listening to those two epic riveting books again before this HEA for Gregory.

Gregory was always a dark soul.. but his tormented rejection over what happened on the island damaged him even more.. so now he’s determined to get revenge.. and to claim his own Wllow girl to fill his loneliness, to calm his anger and to purge his passion for Helena. And his cunning plan involves Helena’s naive and innocent sister Amelia. It wasn’t meant to be forever but, as Gregory gets to know Amelia, lowers his walls and Mafia danger threatens, he realizes that they have both been emotionally damaged by the reaping, that he has to let go of the past to move on, that they’re perfect for each other.. and that love is finally his with the right Wllow girl.

Worth a credit? Yes and I’m so pleased Gregory finally got his HEA in this dual PoV story.. however, IMO, it’s not quite as dark.. or twisted.. or h.h.hot as Taken and Torn. But it’s still a definite 5 star audiobook with a moody alpha anti-hero, a well-paced build-up, mystery, passion, a purging of ghosts, great chemistry, romance, sex, character growth and brilliant narration. And it also brings you up-to-date with Sebastian and Helena’s relationship, their current emotional struggles and finally reunites the brothers.

Willow concept baffles me...

It's so easy to pick up a women and take ownership. No brains required.

The Willow concept baffles me... it's been going on for generations, involves two families, both families hate it, but both follow it. It clearly destroys lives. Duh??? STOP IT!

I just couldn't get passed the premise of the original books.

This series is okay. I hope you like it better than I did.

Surprising

A few minutes into the story I was prepared to stop listening.. probably for 2 reasons... 1 I didnt listen to the other 2 prior books in the series, and secondly I didn't like the way The Hero treated the Heroine at the beginning of the book.. but I'm glad I kept listening as he DID redeem himself toward the end.
overall it was OK. not really for me tho.
The male nerrater was not one I've heard a lot of and he was a little off putting to the story.
