About this listen

Book number two in Samantha Chase's popular Montgomery series.

All work and no play...would make Jason Montgomery a very happy man.

Ever since his brother had married a woman who worked for their company, Jason has been walking around fending off the unwanted advances of all of the single women in his employ. Now, with a make-or-break business expansion in the works, Jason needs an assistant he can trust not to mix business with romance.

For three years Maggie Barrett has happily hid in the shadows of Montgomery's. After dealing with her own unwanted advances from her previous employer, staying under the radar was working just fine for her. But now she's thrown into the spotlight as Jason's assistant because he believes her to be a safe choice because she's married.

The only problem? She's not.

Working in close proximity wasn't supposed to be an issue. The lines of their relationship were clearly defined. But when a mutual respect turns into a mutual attraction, how will Maggie explain that the only thing holding Jason back was just a little white lie?

The narrator made it difficult to listen to. He over emphasized and I didn’t feel like I was listening to a real interaction. And sometimes it was hard to tell who was speaking.
Overall, I enjoyed the story.

Good story.

The narration is lacking for me. Not expressive enough perhap it is because I am listening to it in 2020.

Narration???

This book was definitely lacking. The hero was great. The heroine a totally self involved victim. Ughhh. And I can only think of one other narrator I like less than this one. He barely had any range between characters and his intonations seemed ridiculous. I am requesting a refund.

heroine totally unlikable, narrator awful

Couldn’t get past the narrator so I never made it past the first chapter! Wow

Narrator no!

Horrible narration. It sounds like someone is scolding you for 4 hours and it is almost impossible to tell which character is “talking” in the dialog as all sound identical. The main female character was wining and basically complaining of a circumstance she herself was recreating. Skip and pick anything else. I promise it will be better than this.

Don’t waste your time
