About this listen

In this gruesome true crime anthology, you will hear about twelve true crime stories that baffled investigators and continue to draw interest among the public due to their shocking details. From tragic cases of spousal murder to tragic cases of child murder, this true crime book will surely keep your attention.

Three cases of spousal homicide are among the many murder stories in this volume that will keep you captivated. Hear about how two wives, Larissa Schuster and Susan Wright, decided to kill their husbands for greed and about how a husband and father, John Sharpe, decided he did not want to be married anymore, so he killed his wife and daughter. For different reasons, these killers thought that they would get away with their crimes, but the ensuing criminal investigations revealed their evil plans for the world to see.

This volume also features a number of child abduction cases that unfortunately ended in tragedy. Follow the course of these true murder cases and learn how the investigators worked tirelessly to put these monsters behind bars. You will also be introduced to cases that can only be described as strange or weird, such as the case of Donald Webb, who was a master of multiple identities, and Vlado Taneski, a journalist who created his own scoops through murder. This may be a true crime audiobook, but you are guaranteed to be at the edge of your seat and will probably think at times that you are actually listening to a true crime novel.

Needed more time and details.

I received this audiobook for free from the author / narrator / publisher, in exchange for an unbiased review.

This book is 3 hours long, and within that time, I covers 12 different real-life crimes. That comes down to - 15 minutes per story. As such, none of the stories got enough time to leave an impression. The crimes described are gruesome and horrific, but when you keep jumping from one to the next every 10-15 mins, it breaks your concentration and you have moved on before you could dwell on it.

I think each of the stories should've received some more time and details.

The narration was good, clear and apt.

showing true crimes

This is a very well written true crime book. it does have lot of detail of cases, and events that really happened. I wish it has a little more info, but there then it was a good book.

The narrator did a good job on tell this story.

Not to bad .

At least the author does not keep going around and around with boring details he does get straight to the point which is nice. I have listen to other books where they give you boring details. So I do enjoy getting right the facts!

Another Great Installment

Jack Rosewood has a great talent for telling true crime stories. Kevin Collins does a great job reading the book so it is like listening to the Unsolved Mysteries tv show. This installment has a number of stories on family and spouse killing and describes what happened without getting too graphic. Great read!

Wow! There’s a lot of crazy people in the world.

This is my first experience with Jack Rosewood True Crimes books and he delivers. Great narration by Kevin Kollins definitely pulls you into the story. I will be looking forward to their other volumes of these type stories.

Ten Pounds of Stories In A Five Pound Audiobook

If you enjoy an in-depth look at the evolution, execution and conclusions of true crime this is NOT the audiobook for you. The author covers twelve separate crimes in a three hour audiobook so -- doing the math -- that's less than fifteen minutes per event. The crimes covered were interesting indeed but by putting more meat on the bones this audiobook would have gone from average to excellent.

This really is a case of "just the facts, ma'am, just the facts".

Some very shocking stories here

The working of a human mind is and will always be a mystery. Some of the mysteries minds have always been those that kill. I always have to wonder what in the world they were thinking and how they thought they would get away with it. It also makes me wonder how many did get away with it. Here the author gives you a nice mixture of some of the series criminals that prey on young girls and the outcome that will have on them when they go to prison as well as the lovely family who everyone thought was happy until that day when one of them decides they don’t want to be married anymore.

The narrator did a good just giving emotion when he needed, his character voice when used where good. His natural voice is very nice. There are no background noises, no repeating of words, no volume changes if any breaks were taken I could not tell. He lays it out and lets the listener judge what their emotion will be.

This is a very enjoyable listen with facts and about cases I had never heard of. It was nice to see that sometimes in true life those that do the crime pay.
