Acerca de esta escucha

The Abyssal Tower—an endless dungeon where the chosen earn their gods' favor.

Here they are promised riches, skills, and legendary artifacts. Six divines, six factions, each competing with warriors from all across the realm. But what happens when an unknown seventh god comes out of retirement?

Meet Adam Glow, a persecuted, down-on-his-luck necromancer with dreams of crafting a utopia. After a series of unfortunate events, he finds himself and his cat, Schrödinger, cornered by the dastardly forces of the Empire. Being relentlessly hounded by the inquisition with no escape route, he makes a last-ditch attempt to save himself by activating a mysterious system, resulting in an adventure of cataclysmic proportions.

Join Adam in this humorous LitRPG Isekai as he raises an army of the damned to surpass the tower's trials while being subjected to the shenanigans of an aging god.

It was hilarious to hear all the memes and jokes. The story felt a little all over the place for a while, but it wasn't bad. The narrator, while my dad and boyfriend don't think they care for him, I think did a really good job for this book. It was just too cartoonish for them is all. But it was pretty funny and good overall for me! I thought it'd be a one off but I think I'd listen to more of these

I loved all the references

I love how satirical this book is. I can't wait for the sequel. The performance was fantastic and I hope that the narrator returns for book 2

Lots of fun

This was a fun listen I enjoyed the story and most characters the only issue I have with it is that there are quite a few wrighting errors like screwing up names or genders of characters and some scene changes seem to be missing bits so it becomes confusing and jarring. The narrator also took me a while to get used to.

A fun story

This title has numerous flaws such as incorrect word usage, incorrect phrases, extremely jarring skips in perspective from one sentence to another, weirdly or incorrectly described actions, and probably more things that I'm too tired to list. Heck, as of now, one of the chapters is labeled as a "Chapter" instead of a "Catpurr" like the others. In other words, it really needed a proofreader or editor to give it a look before publishing. When you couple this with a narrator with zero aptitude for voices, this should not be a good book - but it is!

Seriously, forget about all my complaints and just enjoy this book. It's quite silly and fun to listen to, and the narrator makes up for his shortcomings with lots of effort and enthusiasm. It does help A LOT if you are a nerdy sort of person and enjoy role playing games and anime since the author has made this a LitRPG book and has also thrown in Japanese words for no real reason other than the author has thrown in all kinds of stuff ripped from other sources that he likes. For instance, there is a character called Tim the Enchanter that is introduced to the reader as he is launching fireballs at stuff for fun, which is ripped straight from Monty Python. There are also plenty of anime tropes chucked in just because. As for the LitRPG aspects, they probably didn't need to be in the book since they really only served to create annoying lists of stats that we must listen to or skip passed. Fortunately this element is fairly light in the book - just be prepared to skip passed the stat spam occasionally.

But here I am being negative again, huh? It's out of love, I swear. You know how when something is really good it makes it all the more annoying when it is marred by careless mistakes? That is this book in a nutshell. I suspect, though, that most of the readers of this will be the sort of people who won't even notice the mistakes - like a bright light causing a person's eyes to dilate, or several dozen of something equalling six. There are more examples but you get the point, and here I am still being negative again. Bad me. It's a good book, I swear. Just get it and forget I said anything, OK?

Flawed But So What?

Funny story and narrated masterfully! I want to hear the next one! Character development done well. Kudos!

Lots of fun!

right off the bat if you can make it through a narrator who tries his best but is the wrong fit this is a fun listen. the story itself is excellent as are the characters and their development. I will be buying this book in print and hoping a sequel comes soon.

the narrator just isn't right for this. he makes the main character sound like a shrill frantic old man and puts extremely overdone vibrato on everything he says or does dragging out words like a radio shock jock which once your ear catches it is impossible to drop.

try and get past that and enjoy a wonderful new story and world

exciting and funny but misplaced narrator

Decent reading experience. The whole thing is read by one guy who does a silly amount of nasally voices pretty well. MC is a well-intentioned loser. In DND terms, he rolls a nat 1 as commonly as a stormtrooper misses their target in the movies. So just be prepared for chaos and generally failing upward.

An honorary black cat!

It's not the worst thing I ever listened too but after 3 hours I couldn't stand much past that. It tries far too hard and the humor comes off as childish, like the Jim Carry Cat in The Hat movie

childish
