About this listen
Tik Tok, or as it's more commonly known, Tic Toc is a smartphone application that was released on August 6th of 2009. It became quickly popular among many users because of its easy-to-use interface and bright colors. The app has a simple premise where you can post images and videos to share with your friends or the public to gain likes, hearts, comments, and plays. It's currently owned and operated by the Chinese company ByteDance Inc., which has more than 130 million active monthly users in June 2018.
Tik Tok was created by a Chinese company called Douyin Technology (also known as Tik Tok Inc.), which was created in November of 2014. It later merged with Beijing ByteDance Technology Co. Ltd, who is the current owner of the app.
After merging with ByteDance, they changed their name to Tik Tok and began rebranding themselves as an entertainment app, rather than a short video sharing platform.
It's estimated that Tik Tok has more than 130 million users per month, which is far beyond any other video app. However, it's still only in the top 20 grossing apps on both the iOS and Android stores, despite being recently released globally.
As later events will reveal, Tik Tok has a lot to offer to its users in terms of entertainment & sharing. Here are some of its features & features:
Tik Tok is most often viewed by teenaged users. However, there are over 137 million active DAU s according to App Annie, which means there are at least 137 million monthly active users, not including those who have deleted the app after using it only once or twice.
Tik Tok has a bright and colorful interface, which allows users to make their posts look attractive and easy to read.
Users can comment on videos made by others, like their likes and dislikes of the posts and images. Users are also given the ability to comment on other user's posts.
Users can set profiles, log user-created playlists or create music playlists for their friends or followers. This makes it easier for them to share videos with those they like instead of having to search for each picture individually.
Content on the app is controlled by a combination of users and moderators. To avoid copyright infringement, Tik Tok has its own Content ID system to track the user-submitted content for copyright violations.
