About this listen

From the bestselling author of The Forgetting: a tense, character-driven suspense with a final twist that will make you gasp

A heartbroken mother

When seventeen-year-old Isla Richardson is killed in a hit-and-run incident, a community’s lives are thrown into disarray. For Isla’s mum, Abby, it is her second devastating bereavement, having lost her husband five years ago. As Abby begins to uncover secrets about Isla’s life, she’s forced to rethink everything she thought she knew about her family.

A supportive best friend

For Abby’s best friend, Nicole, the tragic death sets in motion a chain of events that will have irreparable consequences for her husband and her two teenage sons.

A determined mum

For Jenna, Isla’s death threatens to expose secrets about her son’s past that she has done everything in her power to hide, to secure him a better future.

A tragedy unites them—but it could also tear their families apart

Tackling friendship, family, social prejudice and the pressures facing young women, Three Mothers asks: How well do we really know our children? And how far would any of us go to protect the people we love?

Ideal for fans of Louise Candlish, Lisa Jewell and Liane Moriarty, Three Mothers is a tense, page-turning domestic suspense story with a final twist that will make you gasp.

The lengths a mother will go to in order to protect her children! I was guessing up until the very end! I was appalled, shocked, incredulous by all parts of this story! I could not put this novel down. I loved the audiobook version! Great listen on my morning commutes into the office! First time listening to this author. Great title! KUDOS!

A Mother’s depth

Story was well written, loved that the different characters had different voice actors, and the ending was not obvious.

Captivating Story without an obvious ending

I was fully invested in the story from page one. My one critique is that I felt like some of the inner monologue/thoughts were belabored and the three prologues dragged. It felt like the epilogue went on forever and I skipped through a lot. Otherwise, I loved the book and it had my emotions fully locked in and suffering right alongside the moms in this story!

the story was okay. mild suspense. wish it had trigger warnings though for the grooming and abortion. it didn't strike me as more entertaining than normal tele, but was still held my attention enough. 3 stars.

typical mystery. easy to solve.
