Publisher's summary

Michele was a 32-year-old successful school principal and married mother of two, when she woke up one morning and could no longer hear. Doctors could offer no explanation. She spent frustrating years searching to make sense of the medical mystery. After three desperate years, doctors told Michele there was little chance of her hearing returning.

Even as she came to accept this bleak diagnosis, she never stopped looking for answers. Why would this suddenly happen to a fit young woman in her prime?

Then, one day, a colleague asked, “What is it, perhaps, that you don’t want to hear?”

This sparked intrigue and curiosity, and from that moment, she committed to a journey of self- discovery which led her back to the silences of her childhood. As Michele began to tune in to her inner voice, her well-being flourished. But her 12-year marriage began to unravel.

What began as a mission to regain her hearing became a journey of facing unspoken truths and breaking the silences that keep us trapped in the past.

This Kind of Silence is an inspirational story about gratitude for the small blessings in life, learning to listen again, and the quiet joys of stillness amidst the noise.

Praise for the book:

"A beautifully written and narrated book by the author that instills hope in the great mysteries of life and reminds us of the deep powerful connection between the body, mind and soul. This story will return you to the deep wisdom of your own knowing. It may even make you believe in miracles." (Joanne Fedler, author and publisher)

I devoured this outstanding listen!!

The only thing better than reading this book was listening to it being read by the author!
I wasn't sure what to expect from this memoir, but what I got when I listened was a feeling of connection with the author, and every emotion I can think of. In less than 6 hours, I felt excitement, nervousness, fear, anger, sadness, joy, gratitude, and love.
It seems cliche to say I laughed and I cried, but both are true. The author's ability to use her words, and in this case, her voice, to let you see what she's seeing , and to feel what she's feeling is such a gift to her readers.
Because so many events in my own life paralleled hers, for me this book was part memoir and part self help, but 100% worth the listen!

amazing ... insightful

I absolutely loved it. I can so relate, similar awakenings have happened to me as well. Although not through my hearing. My experiences have made me realize that good cannot happen, without the percieved bad. Embrace lifes struggles and believe in yourself. Thank you Michele... with love♡
