About this listen

Rule Number One: No Dating Cowboys.

A fake fiance doesn't count, right? Oh boy....

Amy Weaver is tired of her dad meddling in her love life. Fed up, she hires an actor to play the part of her fake cowboy fiance when she goes home for her grandpa's 90th birthday. Sure, Luke Jenkins has got looks, charm, and muscular legs, but this is business, pure and simple. Things are fine and dandy until she finds out he's a real cowboy, not an actor. Now, she's stuck between a rock and his chiseled jawline, falling faster than a sack of horseshoes. How the heck is Amy supposed to ignore the sparks between them and stick to her rule of not dating cowboys? All bets are off.

Heck Yeah

This book just like all Rich Amooi's books was great and I couldn't stop listening. Well just like they say in the south (well you can't get anymore southern then Texas), it was a damn good book and I couldn't stop reading it or listening to it even if I wanted to. The narrators were good but not as good as they usually are in his other books. It would have been a little better if they had given the performance little touch of a southern twang. Stephanie Rose's performance was way better in this one than Tim Paige's performance, which is ashame because he's a great narrator. If I could give 4 1/2 stars on the performance then I would have given it 4 1/2 stars, however since I couldn't give 4 1/2 stars; I went ahead a rounded up to 5 stars. I will probably reread and re-listen to this over and over again because I still love this story. Heck the only problem I have with Rich Amooi books having to wait for the next one. It was funny because that last review I on Rich Amooi's book was begging for this book to come out on Audiobook and a couple of weeks later that's exactly what happened. Now if only Madam Love would come out on Audiobooks, it would make my year.

So stinkin cute!

I was rooting for Amy and Luke, and their love! But was silly how they thought they could fight it.

not my favorite

Usually I love titles by Richard Amooi. In particular i enjoy the use of humor and the lack of unnecessary sex scenes. However I can't recommend this book. I haven't decided if it is the story or the narrator, I got 2/3s through but could not complete it. The actions of the niece were very juvenile and unexplainable, The acceptance of her actions was really ... hard to explain. Because of this he hero and heroine were really not highly likable. I didnt respect them and didnt enjoy their story. The father was difficult, and generally unlikable but also realistic - perhaps the most realistic character of the lot- but I was not engaged enough to get to the end. I don't normally say this about stories, but I generally like the author and I wonder if different narrators would have made it seem like a totally different book. Generally I adore this author, I just cannot recommend this one title

Clean love story

This was a very nice love story. I liked the fact that there was no smut in the love scenes, I was able to listen to the entire story with my young granddaughter in the room and didn’t have to turn it off during those parts!

Disappointing clone of The Proposal

Fake Fiance? <sigh, shake of head>. This topic is overdone and this book is no exception. I had high hopes since I've like other books by this author but I really didn't like this one. Too many stolen elements from popular movie The Proposal. older women, younger guy, she forces him to into the situation, cutsie grandparents, prickly father, professional jealousy between the couple. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, unlike the legal issues underlying the relationship in The Proposal (a remake of Greencard), there was nothing interesting about this story. The dialog was flat, plot predictable and the female character, unlike in The Proposal does nothing self-sacrificing for the guy. In fact, she is completely self absorbed the entire book. it is he who is does everything. One sided actions don't make for very good romance.
