About this listen

Rancher Lonny Ellison has never known a woman like Joy Fuller. For one thing, she doesn't seem very interested in him, and as a former rodeo cowboy, Lonny's not used to that. Women mobbed the Wyoming Kid during his rodeo days! And another thing. He and Joy, who's a schoolteacher and his sister Letty's best friend, seem to argue constantly.

But it doesn't matter, does it? Because he's not interested in Joy, either.

Wait a minute. Maybe he is. At least, that's what Letty seems to think their arguments are all about. Yup, she might have a point there.

Now he has to convince Joy that marriage to the Wyoming Kid will be as exciting as an eight-second bull ride and as sweet as the cookies she loves to bake.

The story content was a sweet story but I personally did not particularly like the music played between each chapter! I felt it detracted from the flow of the story.

Did not like the music between each chapter.

Fun dialogue. Escapism western style. A safe buy.

Great book for a rainy day curled up with a cup of tea. The characters are like old friends with a hint of honry kicked in for good measure.

I hope someone rethinks the annoying music at the beginning/end of each chapter. What a waste! Hated the interruption in the storytelling. Hated that the music didn't fit the mood of the book- too jovial.

Good read, kill the music

Would you try another book from Debbie Macomber and/or Ian August?

Yes. I would try other books by Debbie Macomber and Ian August.

What was most disappointing about Debbie Macomber’s story?

Apparently Ms Macomber never met a real cowboy, or at the least, has no idea what the life of a real cowboy is like. Ranch-life and the ins and outs of working ranches and farms are not her expertise. Please stick to stories not involving real country people, Debbie. Thanks

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narrator was great. Keep doing your thing, Ian.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment.

SHE NEVER MET A COWBOY

Now I know what this book was only $5.95....it just wasn't very good. Unbelievable characters, a narrator who made women sound like high pitched cartoon characters and horrible accents. Usually I like Debbie McComber books but this one is a pass.

Not very good
