The two stories could be stand_alones. Their connection is the same characters. I assume there are more books in the series because hints were given about romances for other characters.

Just finished the Blossom Street & Midnight Son's series and wanted to venture in the Heart of Texas. DM's novel's always has a adventure but calming to her stories. so far this new venture has not disappoint my listening pleasure.

After listening to the Dakota series; which I ABSOLUTELY LOVED, I was very excited to start this series. Unfortunately, this first book took me months to complete. I continued to become bored with the story and would venture to other books to listen too. Once completed, I would return back to this book. I finally finished and will not move to book two.

had to struggle finishing this bc it moved excruciatingly slow in parts. jumped ahead in a few spots.
