About this listen

I’m in love with my tall, dark and grumpy boss

Only he’s engaged to another...

Knox Davenport.

Six feet three inches of glower, and with a presence that fills any room he walks into, is my boss.

Too bad I’m secretly in love with him.

He’s a former Marine and the new CEO of the Davenport Group.

I'm a lowly assistant.

He doesn’t even know my name.

I can't get him out of my mind.

The man’s obnoxious, and disagreeable and has an ego I want to take down several notches.

So why can’t I get over this unreasonable attraction?

Besides I need this job so I can pay my bills...and put my siblings through college.

I can't do anything to mess up this opportunity.

So, I resolve to keep things professional between us.

Until he announces he’s to be married... to another.

How long can I watch from afar...

While my heart breaks apart?

I resign my job...

I’m sure he’ll forget about me.

Only a day later the doorbell rings and he’s there.

He's broken off his betrothal.

And has a new proposal for me......with conditions...

This is Knox & June’s story. A standalone billionaire, one-bed, boss-employee, fake relationship, romance with a strong-willed FMC who’s proud of her curves and won’t settle for anything less than love. It is a complete standalone with a HEA.

Steam+Great Narration

The Unplanned Wedding is a take on Beauty and the Beast with a billionaire, a sheltered assistant, and a lot of BDSM steam. Knox is a grumpy CEO who can’t keep an assistant. So when June, who is desperate for a job, ends up as the latest in a line of assistants who has been scared off, she is not deterred. What follows is a push and pull of attraction and angst.

I loved this book. At the beginning, June seemed to be fierce and determined to stay and do a great job. June is drawn toward Knox even when he’s being horrible to her which seems totally off brand and makes her seem like a pushover. The more you read, the more June’s actions begin to make sense as she falls deeper in love with Knox and Knox with June. Knox fights his attraction to June and its in those moments you are reminded that June is fierce and won’t be a doormat even if she submits to Knox in other ways. I loved those moments. I haven’t read much L. Steele and I have clearly been missing out. The book is so much more than a take on a fairytale. I am hooked and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Duet Narration made the story so much better. These narrators bring Knox and June to life in the best way.

Nasty talk and trashy

I didn’t like the nasty talk or the trashy way he made her feel and she liked it!!! It was awful. I listened to it because I used a credit. I should have reviewed it before I bought it. My fault.

The unplanned wedding

Knox, the tall, dark, and broody CEO, is everything he should not be—rude, egotistical, and totally oblivious to June’s feelings. But of course, I couldn't help but get sucked into his mess. I didn’t want to like him at all, but by the end of the book, I found myself… kinda rooting for him? Weird. June, though, I really felt for her. She’s just trying to make ends meet, but the emotional toll she takes is real.

Now, let’s talk about the narration. Shane East? Oh my god, he could read me a cereal box and I’d be hooked. His gruff, broody ex-Marine voice made me melt. And Evelyn Rose was PERFECT as June—her soothing, calm voice balanced out the chaos of Knox and made the story flow so smoothly. The chemistry between them? Unreal. It made the whole audio experience so much better.

One thing I didn’t expect? The emotional depth in this one. I didn’t think I’d vibe with June at first, but her struggles hit home in a real way. Plus, there’s the spice. It’s steamy and full of tension—especially with the whole "fake relationship" trope.

If you're down for a little emotional chaos, love-hate vibes, and some serious tension, this book is for you. Just make sure to check the trigger warnings—there's some foot stuff in there that was hard for me to read! But, overall? Solid listen.

Another Davenport Wedding

I loved Knox and June's story. She was strong enough to deal with his abhorrent behaviour. Shane East and Evelyn Rose are talented narrators.

Knox and June bring ALL THE HEAT!!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is Book 3 in the Davenports series by L. Steele, fake relationship, billionaire romance for Knox and June. He’s a physically and emotionally scarred military vet hero, and she’s a curvy heroine with both a strong and vulnerable side. Their fiery chemistry sets the stage for unique Beauty and the Beast retelling with BDSM vibes, angst, emotional undertones, and real character development that is sure to have you shaking your head.😅 To be honest, I didn’t know what to think of Knox, and usually I’m all in on broken military heroes. However, his behavior was so abhorrent at times, that it made it hard for me to connect with him. His D/s dynamic with June felt weird at times, with her going from strong to doormat, even outside the bedroom. It ended up making more sense over time, though. The spice was off the charts!! One scene was almost too taboo for me, even!!🥵🔥🫣🦶🏻 Shane East and Evelyn Rose did a great job on the narration! The emotion, the angst, the heat, and the banter were on point! But seriously, Shane East could read anything with that deep textured voice in that accent, and I would be hypnotized!😅😍

Hot and Spicy

It was another good story, but not as great as the others. Shane East is fantastic in all these stories. I would have loved to have Knox talk to June about his scars. I did love their love story and how they realized their chemistry right a way. Still highly recommend all these books. They are so well written and the narrators are amazing.

The Alphahole's Undoing

**DUET NARRATION** 🥳🎧🎉

I loved this Beauty and the Beast re-imagining! Knox "The Beast" Davenport is undoubtedly a Grade A 🫏🕳, but boy, can he rev a girl's engine. 🥵🥵 June Donnelly can attest to that despite the scars on his face and body. I really wanted to hate him, but like her, I couldn't.

His brand of foreplay with her was funny. He thrived on egging her on by intentionally calling her Kelly Assistant and July. I cheered each time she stood up to him. 🤭🥳 And I did other things each time he punished her. Mmm....

There is an awkward ILU part in the book. It starts as an out-of-nowhere scene between Knox and his brother, Ryot, and carries across a couple of chapters. The whole thing seemed too out of place and contrived. That aside, I loved this book and the characters I encountered along the way. This is my first L. Steele book, but won't be my last!

I listened to the audio book. The narrators are fabulous and perfect fits for these characters! The duet narration was AWESOME! Honestly, Shane East and Evelyn Rose were simply marvelous.

she is pathetic

If there are woman like that out there please kill the female race now. No self respect for herself. And how can anyone get off on being subservient, degraded and shows no self worth. Please give these woman some self worth.

The accent

This was such a fun story to listen to, I went into this completely blind! I didn’t expect some of the things in here. Knox was so broody and stern yet so loving, understanding and kinky 🤭 I love a bossXemployee romance! June was cute, she didn’t think she could have certain things in her life and most importantly her birth mom, seeing how it all played out was beautiful! I haven’t read the other books in this series, I can recommend this as a standalone!

Another amazing book by L. Steel

Oh my gosh, the Duet Audio of The Unplanned Wedding was delectable. Shane East is one is my favorite male narrators and he nailed Knox’s beast so well (swoon). And Evelyn Rose was the perfect sweet yet sassy June. The Unplanned Wedding had me so invested from the first spank, yup you read that right. The curvy FMC June is an absolute gem of a character, she finds out she only likes being told what to do by her grumpy boss Knox. These two had such hot chemistry - watching Knox fight it and June egging him on was so fun. Grandpa is at it again wanting his grandsons to be married to inherit money and for Knox money and a home. He thought letting his grandfather arrange his marriage would force him to end his obsession with June….but he couldn’t do it. He knew if he HAD to marry it had to be her. But will what Knox offers June be enough? You’ll have to read/listen to find out.
