Publisher's summary

Thaddeus Murfee’s life is about to change forever. And there is nothing he can do to stop it.

Killen Erwin slumps on the other side of the desk, silently waiting for his longtime friend to respond. It’s not a question of whether Thaddeus wants to help, but whether he can. Thad barely survived last week’s savage attack, and for the first time ever, he’s feeling unsure of his abilities in front of a jury.

Now, Killen’s life has fallen apart: His wife is brazenly sleeping around, he’s facing charges for driving drunk and causing a death, and a special prosecutor is hellbent on destroying him. Will Thaddeus have any strength left to defend a friend? And in the face of such brutality, will he even be able to make a difference?

Good story, predictable.

I have Loved all the Thadeus Murphee series. All have been very interacting. This one however became to off handed and predictable in the end.

So Disappointing-

I’ve just discovered John Ellsworth and completely enjoyed my previous listens by him. This was my third and last. I stuck with it thinking somehow it would smarten up and it never did. It seemed Ellsworth was struggling for the plot and characters to develop and all he could think of to do was add one ridiculous storyline on top of the other. The ending wrapping up in sunshine and love by several amoral characters was insulting.
I’ve been a member since 2012 and this is the first review I’ve written, that’s how thin and obnoxious this story was.
