Publisher's summary

I love you...

Nox's tear-filled words echo across the sand as she and Amaris are torn apart. They've battled fiercely to find each other again and have barely reunited when Amaris is taken away by the queen's dragon.

Injured and desperate, Amaris is forced to navigate her new surroundings with the help of Raascot's enigmatic general if she hopes to stay alive. At the same time, across the land and running out of options, Nox forms a partnership with the continent's league of peacekeeping assassins, begging for their help to find Amaris and forge some stability between the kingdoms.

As wounds heal and new relationships blossom, Nox and Amaris must confront impossible obstacles and stretch their magic to its limits if they are ever to create a world that might finally reunite them for good. The odds are narrow, the stakes are high, and one question remains: Is it fate, love, or something else entirely that binds these two women together?

In the enthralling follow-up to The Night and Its Moon, bestselling author Piper CJ redefines love and trust through an authentic fantastical portrayal of queer experiences, found family, and the gray areas that define us all.

Hate It!

I hate that it ends and I have to wait for the next book! I enjoy the story so much and know that I’m going to hate that it ends. When reading a book I find great pleasure in details that bring a story to life and the author does such a great job of making this story leap off the pages for me.

Jaw drop

I usually pride myself on being the type of reader/watcher of stories that figures out the twists before they happen. I did not see this coming. The leaps and bounds this book takes. The way the narrator can capture the sultry power of these two women is amazing and completely different. Showing the different empowerment women can have in the world. Great work! Again my jaw dropped.

Another beautiful work from the Author

Once again Piper CJ has created a masterpiece. I absolutely loved this book date I say better than the first which is saying something. I did figure out a lot of the story reading book 1 but the way it came together had me on the edge of my seat! I am absolutely hooked and I will be starting the third book as soon as this review is posted. If you read the first book and were confused or didn’t quite understand or maybe even like the story this will lay out so much more context. I absolutely adored the way it has come together and I was biting my nails in the last chapter.

A Let down after book one

Enjoyed book one so much I immediately bought this one when i finished it.
Unfortunately the author takes both main female characters backwards, and turns them into petulant, whiny, self-absorbed girls! I tried to let it go but eventually found myself yelling and rolling my eyes way too much for me to enjoy the story any longer.
So sad for the the great story to turn like this.

Love the book hate the narrator

I love the book. Just reread book one to get to this one today. Very interesting story and I like this one even better than the first. This is not the worst narrator ever but she is not great, her voices feel mocking of the story and the voices are terrible.

full of love betrayal and shocking revelations

But for the love of the Gods and Goddess enough of the cliffhangers. I love the pulse pounding harrowing stories and the deep abiding love our two heroines have for each other. The depiction of the mad king as a heartbroken mad/sad man who's grief is the driving factor of his decisions was a great departure from the tyrannical mad man hell bent on murder for the sake of murder. Natalie Naudus does a great job with the narration bringing life into each individual character
