A complex and engaging story with so many levels of story, heart wrenching and intriguing. The wlw love is portrayed as sacred although not easy, and the heroine is a multifaceted character. Recommended!

An amazing adventure

I wasn’t expecting a lot when a friend got me this for Christmas and it has become my new obsession. I don’t read a ton of books that aren’t popular or well known and so I was nervous that I’d be disappointed but the thoughtful character building, slow burn romance, and masterful exploration of disability and LGBT issues was a breath of fresh air!

A level of inclusivity not often seen in storytelling. The world building was magnificent. I couldn’t stop listening and am excited to jump into the other stories in this world.

This was exactly what I needed - a slow burn with compelling and complex characters, truly unexpected twists, and an entrancing storyline. I found myself wanting to listen all the time! I loved that I could stay with this story for a few weeks and experience this as a slow burn. As the series progressed, the story and characters became more and more distinct from others in this genre (as well as more nuanced and gripping). The author’s writing just gets better and better and the action in the third book gets downright heart pounding!

This series was so good and I can’t wait to read the second arc. The three book audiobook is such a deal - don’t hesitate!!

I enjoy good multi-character driven stories. Sometimes that can be difficult when listening to audiobooks. Between the author and narrator this series was not hard to follow.

The 3-book series went into depth with many characters. Parsing out their stories throughout in good timing.

Looking forward to more by this author.

I’m an avid reader and listener, 100+ books a year, and this is my very first written review. I loved every single thing about these books. Rich but easy to follow world building, multidimensional characters, brilliantly crafted queer and disabled characters. So much love and drama and mystery. And then the narration. Just so so good.

I bought the hard copies of the whole universe by Pescatore but this series is so good I had to get the audiobook too. I can’t wait for more books

A magical dragon story.

I picked up the omnibus and am on the 3rd book in the series. I am enjoying the vast character ensemble, the intrigue and locations. I appreciate the realism of repeat names, complicated relationships, and that the main girl isn't just some horny teenager like so many books these days. I am getting frustrated with the growing use of "misunderstandings, assumptions, acting upon wrong conclusions before seeking truth as a plot driving vehicle. It is getting to be a bit much and has gone on far too long. I've been ready for some for quite a while for some sort of resolutions in these matters but nope.. Still going and I'm tired of the trope. If you don't resolve these things in a timely manner it just gets annoying in a rinse and repeat fashion. I'm ready for the story to get on with it. I've spent 3 whole novels building that frustration. I'm sensitive to this type of plot propelling device so I'm losing my patience with the novel. Where at first I was not able to put it down, I'm now less willing to pick it up because I know it's going to leave me irritated. Side note, the narrative is fantastic imo. And if you aren't overly bothered by this style of writing plot mechanic then Def give this a read.

It was a beautifully plotted and executed series with such rich depth that I was left speechless at the end. The plotting was so intricate that even in the last few chapters, I couldn't see how she could possibly be working the story lines together.

She concluded the first arc and left room for the next without leaving me angry at a lack of resolution.

This was a wonderful experience for me with well crafted language and tightly woven scenes. The character's voices were distinct from one another, the settings were beautifully created, the magic system was well thought, and the relationships were realistic and dynamic.

Marian Hussey's narration was absolutely perfect. Each character was distinct and clear. She was outstanding. There are some wonderful female narrators and Ms. Hussey ranks among the best.

I don't normally leave book reviews, but I cannot get this series out of my head or heart. I'm craving more! The plot is great, the character building fantastic, and I lost count of the times my jaw dropped and I swore out loud from new developments. fabulous writing, fabulous narrator.
