Could have been written by Conan Doyle

I’m a big Holmes fan with more than 40 titles in my collection. This is among the best Holmes stories not written by Conan Doyle himself I’ve read. Holmes and Watson are true to character and the plots are interesting and it’s easy to suspend disbelief. If I were to find fault, it would be that the narrator should stick to language conventions of the time and place. In middle and upper class Victorian England, the street name is pronounced pell-mell.

Not a page turner

I enjoyed the narrator. The story however is not Conan-Doyle worthy. I fell asleep listening and woke up to hear it again having really lost nothing between sleeping. Very predictable as the story-telling gives itself away without surprise as to its ending.
