About this listen
Every sacrifice has consequences.
Sixteen-year-old Rowan has spent most of his life living among the mortals - learning to control the element of fire, impatiently awaiting the day his vengeful mother Queen Prisma will abdicate her throne. When he finally returns to Avalon for his coronation, his mother insists he must first prove his loyalty to the court by completing a secret mission:
Kill Kalin, the half-human, half-elemental daughter of the air court king.
Willing to do anything to remove his mother from power, he agrees to sacrifice the halfling. He returns to the mortal world with his best friend Marcus, determined to kill the princess. But as he devises a plan, he starts to question whether or not he's capable of completing such a heinous task. And what price he will pay if he refuses?
"Filled with betrayal and intrigue, The Shadow Prince is a dark and twisty novella from an exciting new author!" (Katee Robert, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author)
"The Shadow Prince is an amazing story, written well, with a unique story and intense plot. O'Neale is one hell of a storyteller." (Rachel, Parajunkee)
"The Shadow Prince is a fast-paced, action-packed, exciting introduction to a world of intrigue, and danger. I think fantasy and paranormal readers are going to love meeting her sexy male lead, Rowan. I'm a fan of both, and I really enjoyed this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on Mortal Enchantment!" (Katie, Mundie Moms)

As a divorced single father, I live by three rules: Make sure every day my daughter, Paisley, knows she’s number one in my life. No matter what, keep contact with my cheating ex-wife to a minimum, and turn Maxwell Wineries into a legacy that keeps Paisley set for life. When I hire Lexi to look after my daughter, I realize I need another rule: Don’t pursue Paisley’s nanny. But even if I had that rule it wouldn’t matter. Because I'm breaking it already.

The first time I met Winter Marks, I almost took her out with my Jeep. To be fair, she came out of nowhere. I flirted with her, and she flipped me off and disappeared into the woods on her bike. But she left me a souvenir: a single hockey skate. Seemed to me that divine intervention shouldn’t be ignored. She was my icy Cinderella, and I would be her Prince Not-So-Charming. Winter was more than just a sassy, badass hockey-playing hottie. She’s stuck in a prison of a life. And I’m the perfect escape. Neither of us expected to fall. Or for the truth to shatter us.

Action-packed start!
Rowan, only heir to Queen Prisma of the Fire court has spent most of his life in the mortal world, training and perfecting the art of fire. When he receives the call to return to Avalon, Rowan is intrigued and also hesitant. Queen Prisma has decided to abdicate her throne to her son, but Rowan knows that where the cruel Queen is concerned, there have to be ulterior motives at play. And he is right. Queen Prisma has set one task for Rowan to complete before he ascends the throne, to kill the innocent halfling daughter of the Air court King. Can Rowan complete his evil task and can he face the consequences of his actions?
It’s short, but if this novella is any indication of the rest of the series, I’m very excited! O’Neale has created a wonderfully complex, vivid world in a few short pages, an outstanding achievement for any author. Rowan’s character is swoon-worthy romantic, with just the right amount of ‘boyishness’. I absolutely loved the banter between Rowan and the Hound. It revealed so many parts of his character without ‘telling’ and was humorous and very ‘male’ at the same time. The creation of the world was unique, the plot fast-paced, the writing superb.
This author is one to watch out for!
The narrator was spot on too!

meh! I expected better.
the story had potential to be a real "page turner" but for me it did not meet my expectations. if the narrator would have slowed down a bit. we would not have hears him gasp or breath so much and would sound like he was running sentences together. the male characters and their banter really sounded like a female wrote it and did not channel the way a real man talks. very disturbing.

CLIFF HANGER (REALLY)
I loved this book but you left me hanging at the end and dam it The continuing books are not on auditable, so I had to read the rest of the books. Don’t get me wrong reading is fine but I love to hear the story, it’s easier to imagine the scenes with my eyes closed. And Zachary Webber does such a good job narrating, I love his voice he brings these books to life. I love auditable. Anyway this story is heart wrenching what a mom, dam. Rowan, loved him. Again great story.

A shadowy read!
If he slays the half-human, half-elemental, princess of the air court, she will abdicate her throne...
Is he capable of completing such a heinous task?
And what price will he pay if he refuses?
A great read start and introduction to this series. Very interesting and entertaining.
At least we got the hero's point of view, we got the intro from someone immersed in this world.
Full of elementals, elemental powers, courage, duty, sacrifice, forbidden romance and a war.
Perfect for readers of fantasy romances.
The narration enhances the read and makes it very fascinating and interesting.
