Excellent, but the audience is distracting

Some familiarity with the story and the characters is necessary in order to enjoy this work. The actors are quite good, but the audience is a real distraction. Someone listening to this might also enjoy the movie version, starring Annette Bening and Saoirse Ronan. Both versions are excellent, and they complement one another.

Superb

If you could sum up The Seagull in three words, what would they be?

Understanding, heartbreak, laughter.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Seagull?

The beginning, the middle and of course the end.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I couldn't have imagined better players.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Chekhov's drama can twist a knife into your heart and then leave you in laughter seconds later. Pure genius.

Any additional comments?

If you love plays you will know this one, however it is still great to listen to.

Difficult to follow

It was difficult to tell who was talking. The voices weren't distinct enough for me.

wonderfully executed

I really liked this rendition and performance! I think the characters were portrayed quite well. Sounded as though they embodied their characters wonderfully. I felt like I was right in the theater.

Pretentious

I think Chekhov would have been surprised at how many comic scenes he wrote. The affected laughter, as well as the overacting was annoying and distracting. Only in Hollywood
