About this listen
But Bhellion carried dangers of its own. Once the stone came into his hands, Sparhawk found himself stalked by a dark, lurking menace. Whether the foul Zemoch god Azash was behind this threat, or some other enemy, even Sephrenia could not say - only that the sapphire rose held powers too dangerous for any mortal to bear.
Restoring Queen Ehlana would only be the beginning of Sparhawk's mission. With the aid of four stalwart knights, one from each Militant Order, he must thwart Ehlana's poisoner, the Primate Annias, in his plot to assume the throne of the Church. For, as Archprelate, Annias would serve his secret master, Azash, and deliver up to the dread god the one thing Azash thirsted for - Bhelliom itself!

Story
Six years had passed since the redoubtable knight Sparhawk had triumphed over the evil God Azash and returned to Elenia with Queen Ehlana, his bride. And now a new danger had arisen to threaten the peace of Ehlana's realm. The trouble had started quietly. At home, bandits began to plague the hill country. In neighboring Lamorkand, the customary political unrest turned ominous with whispers that the bloody heroes of old soon would rise again.

It would be sheer folly to try to conceal the true nature of Althalus, for his flaws are the stuff of legend. He is, as all men know, a thief, a liar, an occasional murderer, an outrageous braggart, and a man devoid of even the slightest hint of honor. Yet of all the men in the world, it is Althalus, unrepentant rogue and scoundrel, who will become the champion of humanity in its desperate struggle against the forces of an ancient god determined to return the universe to nothingness.

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Great book food narration
great series and this narrator did an excellent job portraying the characters. I don't recommend the narrator in the following series after listening to this one though.

Great Book and Series...however
I loved the books, but very disappointed in the audio books. Ramshorn is not pronounced Ram Shorn. It should be pronounced Rams Horn. Maybe read the book before recording so you understand the context. Other words were also mispronounced. The character voice for Aphrael/Flute was very poor.

Again, lovely moving story.
What did you like best about this story?
There are plenty of things to like about this story. The thing I love the most is the feel of Eddings stories. They feel warm, loving, and comforting. Stories and characters you can go back to regularly and enjoy like long time friends.

Great story with an outstanding performance.
David Eddings... need I say more? Artfully read with some voice acting. I have thoroughly enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

Love Eddings
The story is wonderful and the narration is fine. The music however, is annoying and should be removed.

Mindbending
It tells it all in the end but do you know that there could be more always looking for the extra parts. something that could make me want to read more the authors books.

Enjoyable listen
Enjoyable series created by David Eddings, author of the Belgariad and Mallorean series of novels. Hopefully, Audible will obtain the trilogy to this series as well as the other two missing novels from the Belgariad world; Belgareth the Sorceror and Polgara the Sorceress to complete the world.
