About this listen

Can she heal his broken heart?

Allen McKane is crawling out from the ashes. After losing his wife in childbirth, he stopped caring about anything but business, staying in his private cave of grief and guilt and ignoring the son who looks too much like his dead wife. After a wake-up call in Singapore, he's finally moving forward, getting to know the son that he's neglected all these years. Slowly and surely, he's pushing past his grief and letting go of his tragic past.

That's when he meets Valentina Baez. She makes his heart start again, a heart that he thought he buried with his wife.

Valentina is a curvy consultant who never expected to meet a billionaire dressed in khakis at a baseball game. She was surprised to see his gang tattoos, and they only meant to spend a single weekend together.

But when she realizes that she's pregnant, will that turn into a lifetime?

lost for words...not in a good way

First credit to anyone who takes the time to write a story. This wasn't a terrible story but I didn't skip a few chapters. There is a lot of filler details that were completely unnecessary. For example, how often he needs to get an oil change. It felt like I was listening to a lot of rambling, for the first half of the book. Then towards the end, there is actual drama but that is all fast paced. Then it is over just as fast as it started. Then last few chapters read like it was rushed, as if it was an hour before your term paper is due and had to write something.

Tough Bad Boy

I loved the guys voice for this narration. And I liked that it had a male and female narrator. My heart ached for Alan when I found out what he went through. That would be so hard. Anyone would want to do what he did as far as his son. Idk how I would cope. But he should've still thought of his son and had more dealings with him. I got so upset with Alan. Did he think Trouble was just supposed to instantly wanna be a family after twenty something years? Of course, nannies is all the kid ever knew and was probably better off. And he never lacked for anything. I really liked Valentina. When she told him she was pregnant, I felt so sorry for her because of his reaction. Don't wanna spoil it but even after all they went through after that and almost dying, I don't think I could've forgiven that easy. That was pretty bad what he said. But all in all, I loved the ending. I do wish we would've heard more reaction from Trouble. He was kind of just answering in yes or no. We never got to know what he was thinking or his feelings. But I'm sure that's how it would be with a parent wanting to start over. The parent would need to be the one to work for it after being absent all those years. And I noticed that there's other books in this series. One about Trouble and his lady. I can't wait to check them all out. I think I will see about the audio on them.

Great promise

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The back story in the middle of the book was too involved. It was like a whole different story.

Which character – as performed by Noel Harrison and Beth Roeg – was your favorite?

I enjoyed Noel Harrison as Allen.

Do you think The Reformed Bad Boy's Baby needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No follow up necessary. There are many chapters in the middle of the book devoted to Allen and his dead wife. It ended with a commitment to a new life.

Any additional comments?

While I enjoyed the story, there was a lot of extraneous information or items that were describe in too much detail not pertinent to the story. The threat/conflict at the end did not feel resolved.

Supposed to be a BWWM

They never described the women at all. It was once or twice when they even mentioned it. Yes her name was ethnic but come on.

not sure...

Spoiler: I was not sure how to rate this story since I didn't love or hate it. Both characters had my interest at the beginning. However, after she told him about the baby, he told her to get rid of the it and pushed her away. Then he wanted her back and she took him in right away. I rolled my eyes and said to myself, this was the dumbest heroine. At least make him work before taking him back. Instead, she took off her underwear then they had sex. I fast forward most of the story and stopped after she took off her underwear. i was disappointed because i like to finish the story. This author was new to me but she will be my last.
