Acerca de esta escucha

Enchanting time travel romance from the author of the number one international best seller The Prophecy.

She’s an agent running from her past. He’s the warrior who will become her future.

In her desperation to undo the tragedy that stole everything from her, Maggie Sinclair becomes entangled in an enchantment and thrust into 15th-century Scotland. Torn from everything she knows, her mission becomes survival.

Losing his wife and unborn child all but crushed the spirit of the once-proud Highland warrior, Callum O’Roarke. But when the sisters of Brackish Abbey press Callum to take in their new charge—a woman whose emotional scars are as deep as his own—he reluctantly agrees, offering Maggie sanctuary.

Thrown together after devastating circumstances, the pair find common ground in their shared pain, and begin to forge a friendship. Thinking he has nothing left to give, Callum learns to love again. After being trapped in the past, Maggie discovers she’s in exactly the right place.

A message from the author:

Dear Listeners,

I hope you enjoy Maggie and Callum’s time travel love story in The Price as much as you did Gwen and Greylen’s in The Prophecy. I am absolutely loving the Lairds of the Crest series!

If you listened to one of the first editions of The Prophecy before listening to The Price, you might be confused that the Lairds of the Crest series has jumped back in time by 100 additional years. Allow me to explain.

I’ve since shifted the time setting of the Lairds of the Crest series from the 16th century to the 15th century. All current editions of The Prophecy reflect this.

It’s all a matter of ignoring my instincts and then finally listening to myself, my readers, and listeners! When I first started writing The Prophecy, it was originally set in the early 1400s. Then, in subsequent edits, I moved it ahead 100 years, mistakenly thinking life in that later time period wouldn’t seem so stark. But the history wasn’t working quite right.

So now Gwen and Greylen’s love story is back in the 1400s, where it was always meant to be—and where we also find Maggie and Callum. There are more Lairds of the Crest novels coming soon, and I am so glad you are with me on this journey!

With love,

Kim

I loved this book and how it tied into the previous book in the series. I'll have to wait for the next because it left me at a cliffhanger pointing to another in the series.

Entertaining

I will say that nothing can top The Prophecy. However, this story is fantastic. Bec characters are in the other books the narrator dose pretty good to make each main characters different. While keeping true to voice tones of the characters in the previous books. Which is challenging.
You can read/listen to the books independently. However, reading/ listening to them in order it enriches the experience. Which I highly recommend.
I am excited about the new ideas for my 2 favorite types of books. Time Travel & Highlander's.
I am very stingy with my credits. I would totally use my last credit for this book.
Just as a side note, sometimes, as individual people, we have issues with narration. sometimes things get lost in translation. The book is fantastic to read. I love this book reading. It was thrilling to hold the book. Turn the pages. Use my imagination to see her story come alive. If anyone has regrets with Audio or any other type listening to books. I would say if you can't get the book DEFINITELY go to Kindle! You won't be disappointed.

This author makes Time Travel exciting again.

I’ve found that I unwittingly compare all historical (time travel) romances to Jude Deveraux - Knight in Shining Armor. And very few books have hit the mark for me. It’s very frustrating. But I did enjoy this one. I liked the premise and the characters were likable. There are parts that I found myself disappointed .. usually with how the female lead acted or reacted to her emotions or situations. I felt some of her denial and indecisiveness dragged on without real substance. It just felt like filler or fluff, dragging the storyline on. There were other parts that could’ve been explored and expanded upon. That would’ve been better, like when the first two years the lead female found herself in the past .. how did she feel and adjust? I felt that there was some loose ends that weren’t truly addressed. But as historical romances go, this one wasn’t too bad.
I read this out of sequence (there’s other books in this series). I’ll have to check them out, too.

Enjoyed this one
