I have listened to this at least 3 times.

This book is packed with exercises, takeaways and life examples. I haven't looked in to any other titles on the topic but I don't feel that I need to. I felt like it was that good.

If I’m taking notes and telling others about it while I’m listening - it’s a five star review

I loved the direction and that she often repeated that you don’t have to write a book or be a writer to benefit from writing.

My new favorite book

This isn't just for writers. I bought this thinking it would be the same formula as all the other "how to motivate yourself to write" books. What I found was a unique take on how writing makes your life better. That's kind of putting this great book in a tiny nutshell. The first time I read it, I found myself sharing some of the author's insights with my teen granddaughter. Each of my granddaughters requested journals for Christmas as a result.
I recommend this book for anyone who thinks.
As a disclaimer, I'd like to say I've lived long enough to know that sometimes words hit differently depending on how and when you hear them. If you don't get something from this book, I recommend reading again later down the line.

The voice in writing

I’ve always had a nagging sensation to want to write. I never found myself actually sitting in front of a pen and paper to write my thoughts or feelings down. I took it upon myself when I saw this book to find inspiration to write. What a way to connect to how I have felt with the way the author describes our inner self and why writing is important. She describes the voice inside and relates it to our thoughts, our feeling and our experiences. I am challenged to want to hear more of my own voice inside. The pen and paper has finally been grasped. My story from within has started to come out. I look forward to continuing on this path so that my voice can be heard and inspire others to do the same as Allison Fallon has inspired me with this book. The power of writing is more powerful than we can imagine. Until you open yourself up and let it flow, you may always have that voice telling stories untold.

engagingly and welcoming

I feel more empowered to write after listening to this book. Though it did take awhile until to get to any writing exercises that inspired me.

My main take away and the most useful bit of information was: Interesting questions leads to interesting writing.

I also feel a little sad after finishing this book. It took me in a lot of emotional directions which made meI face some of my demons and hardships.
