Brought to you by Penguin.
Does your mind wander?
Do you find it hard to concentrate?
Do you jump from one task to another?
Are you stressed? Anxious? Depressed? Fearful?
The life you want is within reach if you master the power of focus.
By mastering the skill of focus, we can permanently lay these mental roadblocks to rest and become our best selves. Focus lies at the core of all human success, but never before have so many of us experienced the inability to concentrate. Distraction is a silent epidemic in our modern world. It is damaging relationships, our working lives and, ultimately, our happiness. We've become masters of distraction because that's what we practice all day, every day. As our fast-paced lives compete with a relentless bombardment of information, we switch focus from one thing to another all the time. And it's making us unhappy.
The Power of Unwavering Focus is a practical, step-by-step guide to understanding and harnessing the human mind. Whether you're seeking to improve yourself as a parent, a leader or an attentive listener, this book will help you learn how to focus and in doing so, dramatically improve your productivity, relationships, mental health, happiness and your ability to achieve your life goals.
Drawing on ancient Hindu monastic tradition, Dandapani, a former monk, shows us that concentration is a skill that we can learn and improve through practice. The Power of Unwavering Focus, provides a ten-step toolkit for learning, practising and mastering the power of concentration. Empowered by these new skills, the end result will be your ability to achieve your dreams and goals, and live a happy life full of purpose and joy.

But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. Story
We all want to feel less anxiety, guilt, anger, and sadness. We want to obsess less and be less lonely, and free ourselves from our demons, compulsive habits, and stress. But as humans (unlike rocks), we experience all of these. And, paradoxically, trying to avoid and control them only makes things worse. Having struggled with serious mental illness for many years himself, Mark Freeman has become a dedicated mental-health advocate and coach. He makes the case that instead of trying to feel less and avoid pain and stress, we need to build emotional fitness, especially our capacity for strength, balance, and focus.

The answers to these questions are right behind our eyes. The greatest technology we have ever discovered on our planet is the three-pound organ carried in the vault of the skull. This book is not simply about what the brain is; it is about what it does. The magic of the brain is not found in the parts it’s made of but in the way those parts unceasingly reweave themselves in an electric, living fabric.

Great idea for lifelong learning!
I love the content of the book. It shares an incredible insight on how to discover oneself by learning to concentrate. However the voice quality is a bit less satisfying. The author sounds like he is having a block nose. The initial listening was a bit hard. After some time then it sounds better.

Amazing listen :)
I can't recommend Mr. Dandapani and his teachings enough. I already own all three of his online beautiful courses, - finished one, the second in ongoing - and have been following his work for some time now. His approach to focus, meditation and energy are unique and listening to him explaining anything is pure joy. I am so glad this book is read by him. :)
