Best performance yet

Great story, and though I've read it a few times this audio book had me spellbound, excuse the pun. Mr. Doyle did a great job of keeping all of the Pinhoe uncles separate, which must have been incredibly difficult, and the female voices were never screechy or strident.
Anyone who enjoys magic, English humor, mysteries and alternate worlds will love this tale.

Favorite Chrestomanci Book so far

If you could sum up The Pinhoe Egg in three words, what would they be?

Magical, fantastic, fun

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Pinhoe Egg?

Kat's final encounter with Mr. Farley

Which character – as performed by Gerard Doyle – was your favorite?

Kat - he thinks differently from everyone else and always tried to help others. I really like his connections to animals and creatures in this book. Very closely seconded by Marian for continuing to tell the truth even though it only seemed to get her in more and more trouble.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a bit and I got nervous for some of the characters.

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book twice in a row I liked it so much!

A must for Chrestomanci fans

What did you love best about The Pinhoe Egg?

This is one of those books that starts off with two separate story lines that merge after a while. There are some very memorable characters, especially the one that comes from the egg!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Pinhoe Egg?

The most memorable moment has to be when the egg hatches.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't have just one favorite scene, but anything involving the egg and the creature that hatches from it are among my favorites.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some of the scenes made me laugh out loud.

Any additional comments?

This is quite possibly my favorite Chrestomanci book. The story is interesting. It seems like there is a lot going on sometimes and you wonder how things will be resolved.

Diana Wynne Jones is the best British Youth Author

I don't care that she's dead, I cried when it happened because she's very really the best British fantasy writer. Never acknowledged, not much acclaimed, but her books are seriously the most meaningful, and most magical books I have read in my life. This was a wonderful book in the Chrestomanci series, and if there had to be an end to the series, this was the best way to end it. I miss Diana Wynne Jones every day, but her body of work speaks for itself and this book does a great job of showing important her work remains.

Diana Wynne Jones' Pinhoe Egg

This is a kids book. However as an adult and also a fan of this authors work, I have to say that I did enjoy this book. The author has a very good manner of ending stories that always satisfies, and also has a method of world building a completely believable world. This is a part of a series, but from reading it I have to say that you in no way need to read the previous books to understand what is happening.
