Will an American journalist escape his impending execution and fulfill an ancient Chinese prophecy?

Max Harper, an international magazine photographer, lands in deep trouble in Beijing when he’s unjustly convicted of espionage and sentenced to death.

Enter Min, a mysterious, beautiful Chinese woman with a sword. She breaks him out of jail and propels him on an epic journey toward the mountains of Tibet where she says their destiny awaits.

In fact, she says he’s the one who must help save her people.

Max isn’t so sure he believes her ancient legend about the gods who, every three thousand years, eat the peaches of long life and drink the elixir of immortality. He’s a reluctant hero, to be sure—he just wants to flee from China.

Meanwhile, Max’s escape has caused a fall from grace for a powerful military commander, who now makes it his personal vendetta to not only recapture and kill Max Harper, but to ravage the Tibetans.

With Chinese Army troops after them, and a price on Max’s head, either he’ll have to abandon Min and flee, or stand and fight with her in a battle against dark foes.

Max’s heart is torn as he must decide whether to risk his life for a cause that isn’t even his—he’s just an ordinary man fighting to survive extraordinary circumstances.
