Publisher's summary

She never wanted to come home.

After the death of her estranged father, Tracey returns to the remote cabin she grew up in. As a traumatized veteran of the Vietnam War, Tracey’s father subjected her to rigorous survival training under brutal conditions, believing it was for her own good. She escaped and never looked back. Now in her fifties with a criminal record, Tracey returns to claim the property she’s inherited.

Hiking through the forest, teenage Alicia and her friends get lost in the snow. They stumble upon a compound run by extremists, and when the teens see too much, only Alicia manages to escape. She searches for help and comes across a secluded cabin.

With the panicked girl banging on her door, Tracey is launched into combat mode, awakening her inner demons. Though she suffers from extreme PTSD, she is skilled in combat, making her a deadly adversary—perhaps too deadly. As a snowstorm hammers down, the women must work together to save Alicia’s friends from their captors.

Alicia has a protector now, but what if this strange old lady is even more dangerous than the people she’s escaped from?

The Old Lady is a new tale of survival horror from Kristopher Triana, author of Gone to See the River Man and Full Brutal, and columnist for Backwoods Survival Guide.

A struggle with pain

The Old Lady tells a blood thirsty tale, of one women's internal struggles of a life filled with meat pain. Story leads you through her inter struggles of her tramatic and violent upbringing by a war broken father and the effects of his abuse.
Pack full of blood, action and surprise with ever page. This book is just what we have come to love from a Kristopher Triana.

Great book and the end shocked me.

This story kept me hooked all the way to the end. The story about Tracy was tragic but her brutality is legendary

Child abuse making strong woman

So I was a tad taken back on this one. The main character is a badass born from the abuse of her dad. A vigilante and Vietnam war solder. She can kick the shit out of everything but not take a hug. Makes one think on a lot of levels.

Darn You Triana

Never have I ever wanted to scream the way I did listening to this book. This story was one that really hurt my feelings. Tracy just wanted to go back home. Instead she gets into a situation that has her fighting for her life and the life of others. It doesn't help matters that she has her father at every turn putting thoughts into her head. But in the end Triana has to put the banana in the tail pipe...

Captivating

Mental Illness, wilderness survival skills, explosives knowledge, tactical weapons skills, ability to ignore pain......what more can you want from ONE PERSON? How bout adding in fiercely protective. This story captivates from the beginning until the end. This is horror so why am I crying?

What a finale

It’s a good book. I felt heartache and loss at the end. I would have liked a happily ever after. But some that never have a life cannot experience all it can give. Cest la vie
