About this listen

The women of Bliss County have a pact - to find husbands. The right husbands. One already has: Hadleigh Stevens, who married rancher Tripp Galloway a few months ago. Now Melody Nolan thinks it's her turn. Melody has recently found success as a jewelry designer, and her work is the focus of her life. She's not exactly unhappy, but she wants more. She's always been attracted to Spence Hogan, the local chief of police, but she's convinced that Spence, a notorious charmer, isn't what you'd call husband material. Spence is a good cop who isn't scared of anything - except love. And he's done everything he can to preserve his reputation as a womanizer - a reputation that keeps marriage-minded women, including Melody, at bay. And yet... there's something about Melody he can't forget. Something his heart can't ignore.

Sweet story with romance and some mystery too.

This was a very good read with a second chance romance and a lot of side stories too. I especially enjoyed this one because the author didn’t turn it into an over the top sexual drama as she has sometimes done.

Enjoyed the story and always like Jack Garrett

If you could sum up The Marriage Charm in three words, what would they be?

Enough mystery to keep me interested and enough romance to be fun

Any additional comments?

Ms. Miller added color by having Mel own 3 identical calico cats. She obviously knows cat behavior but I must point out that a male calico is a very rare thing to find. My vet said it would be a freak of nature. Ms Miller has 3 male calicos!

Enjoyed it!

This book was entertaining, lively and had its funny moments. Especially liked Ralph, Waldo and Emerson the trio of identical cats. (I also have 3 identical cats). It would’ve been nice if her 3 cats got along with Harley the dog. Jack Garret did a wonderful job narrating this book.

Smooth Transition into this Second Volume

The author does a great job of reminding the listener of characters and plot from the first volume in the series.

There is humor, romance and a little intrigue.

And Jack Garrett's narration is perfect.

Yuck

I usually enjoy LLM’s books but the only thing I enjoyed about this one was Jack Garrett narration which was superior as always. The “hero” appears to be an insensitive jerk who chooses a stupid ploy to win the heroine over. How about being honest and understanding instead?

Every now and then Ms Miller writes a book, usually a second time around story, where the “hero” seems to totally disregard the heroine’s current feelings and the pain she suffered at the time of the original breakup. Instead he uses their chemistry to get what he wants while poking fun or “riling her up” for his personal enjoyment. Bah !
